In the aftermath of the surprise barbecue and Chi-Chi's unwarranted advances, Goka and Vegeta returned home, leaving the party behind. Their journey home was quiet, filled with unspoken understanding and the reassurance of each other's presence.
The following days were relatively uneventful. Goka and Vegeta focused on their training, seeking solace in the familiar rhythm of combat. Presently, Goka and Vegeta found themselves in the secluded mountains. The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow on the landscape. Vegeta, ever the stoic warrior, initiated the exercises, pushing Goka to her limits.
They started with basic drills, their movements a synchronized dance of strength and agility. The area echoed with the sounds of their strikes and the occasional banter. In the midst of their sparring, Vegeta's mind drifted to a flashback—the image of Goka teasing him during a quiet moment by the lake. A subtle smile tugged at the corners of his lips as the memory played out in his mind.
Goka, throwing a series of rapid punches, couldn't help but tease Vegeta. "Come on, Vegeta! You've got to keep up!"
Vegeta, his concentration unwavering, parried her strikes effortlessly. "I don't need your commentary, woman. Focus on your own training."
Goka grinned, enjoying the banter. "Well, if you can't handle a little commentary, how are you going to handle the next big threat?"
Vegeta scoffed. "There's always a bigger threat, Kakarota. And I'll handle it just fine."
"Do you ever take anything seriously, Vegeta?" Goka teased, ducking under a swift kick.
"Strength is a serious matter. Not something to be taken lightly," Vegeta retorted, a smirk playing on his lips.
Their joint movements showcased a dance of agility and power, each strike resonating with the energy of their growing connection. Goka's mind drifted to moments of laughter shared during quiet evenings.
"Remember that time Raditz tried to cook? I thought Nappa and Bulma would never stop laughing," Goka reminisced, a mischievous glint in her eyes.
Vegeta chuckled, a rare sound that echoed through the mountains. "I still don't understand why he thought putting ice cream in curry was a good idea."
The couple seamlessly transitioned from hand-to-hand combat to energy-based attacks. Goka's vibrant ki clashed with Vegeta's fierce aura, creating an explosive display of power. As they unleashed Kamehamehas and Galick Guns, the energy waves collided in a dazzling burst of light and sound.
However, halfway through the display, Goka felt an unusual sensation—a sudden drain of energy that left her feeling lightheaded. Sensing something amiss, she gracefully descended to the ground, prompting a curious look from Vegeta.
Vegeta, noticing her change in demeanor, raised an eyebrow. "What's wrong?"
Goka, unsure herself, admitted, "I don't know. Something feels off."
Vegeta's eyes narrowed. "You better figure it out. "
Goka, still feeling a bit disoriented, shook her head. "I don't know. I just suddenly felt... strange."
Vegeta, ever vigilant, kept a watchful eye on her. He suggested visiting Bulma, Goka's friend, for answers. She agreed, and they swiftly made their way to Capsule Corp.
Goka, however, couldn't shake the feeling of unease, her thoughts lingering on the unexpected drain of energy during their training.
As they arrived at Capsule Corp, they encountered Krillin, who was engrossed in a conversation with Raditz about the upcoming martial arts tournament. Forgetting about her worries, Intrigued, Goka tried to join in, but Vegeta reminded her of the purpose of their visit.
"Hey, Goka, you should join the tournament! It's going to be epic!" Krillin exclaimed.
Goka's eyes lit up with interest, but Vegeta quickly intervened. "We're here for a reason, Krillin. Save your tournament talk for later."
Krillin, ever the helpful friend, gestured for Goka to follow. "Sure thing. I was just chatting with her, She's in the lab."
Goka and Krillin navigated the labyrinthine halls of Capsule Corp. Krillin, ever the chatterbox, animatedly spoke about the upcoming martial arts tournament, detailing the competitors and potential matchups.
"You should consider entering, Goka! With your strength, you'd be a formidable contender," Krillin suggested with enthusiasm.
Goka chuckled, appreciating Krillin's optimism. "Maybe, Krillin. I'll think about it."
As they approached Bulma's lab, Krillin noticed the serious expression on Goka's face. "Something on your mind?"
Goka hesitated, contemplating whether to share her concerns. "I've been feeling strange during our training. My energy is draining faster than usual. Vegeta suggested I get it checked."
Krillin's brow furrowed with concern. "That sounds serious. I hope Bulma can figure out what's going on."
As Krillin led Goka away, Raditz approached Vegeta. "You want a drink, Vegeta?"
Vegeta grunted in acknowledgment, taking a seat at the table. Raditz poured a drink, and as they sipped in silence, Raditz couldn't help but bring up the topic of tournaments.
"You know, Vegeta, I fought in a few tournaments during my time on Frieza's ship. It was a different experience, but the thrill of the fight is universal."
Vegeta, though initially dismissive, found himself intrigued by Raditz's stories. The conversation flowed naturally, and Krillin returned just in time to add his perspective.
"I've been in my fair share of tournaments too. It's a great way to test your skills and see how you measure up against other fighters," Krillin remarked.
Vegeta, against his usual stoicism, found himself drawn into the conversation. "Hmph, maybe I'll consider entering. Not that I need validation from some Earthling tournament."
Krillin chuckled. "You might find it more challenging than you think, Vegeta. Earth has some formidable fighters."
Raditz added, "It's not just about strength. Tournaments are about strategy, adaptability—skills you might find useful."
Vegeta, begrudgingly accepting their points, raised his glass. "Fine, I'll consider it. But only if it proves to be a worthy challenge."
The conversation continued, weaving tales of tournaments and battles fought in different corners of the universe. As they shared stories, a subtle camaraderie developed between Vegeta, Krillin, and Raditz.
Meanwhile, Goka explained her situation to Bulma, who immediately got to work with her diagnostic equipment. Bulma, ever the scientist, ran tests and scans, trying to pinpoint the source of Goka's unusual fatigue.
Bulma meticulously analyzed Goka's energy readings, her brows furrowing in concentration. Goka, sitting on a futuristic examination table, couldn't shake the unease settling in her stomach.
"I've never seen anything like this. Your energy levels are fluctuating rapidly," Bulma murmured, her mind racing through possible explanations.
Goka sighed, her eyes reflecting a mix of frustration and uncertainty. "I just want to know what's happening. I can't focus on training with this hanging over me."
Bulma patted Goka's shoulder reassuringly. "We'll get to the bottom of this. I'll run some more tests, and we'll figure out what's causing the drain."
Bulma studied the data, her eyes widening. "This is strange, Goka. With your energy levels fluctuating, and there's also something... different here."
Goka leaned forward, anticipation in her eyes. "Different how?"
Bulma hesitated thinking about what she found, choosing her words carefully, she spoke. "It's almost as if your energy is... divided. Like there's an additional source, something I've never seen before."
