Gohan's heart pounded in his chest as he raced through the dense forest, his breath coming in ragged gasps. Tears blurred his vision as he ran, his footsteps echoing in the quiet stillness of the woods. Fear gripped him tightly, driving him forward with desperate urgency.

Behind him, the armored squadron pursued relentlessly, their heavy footfalls echoing ominously behind him. Gohan's breaths came in ragged gasps as he pushed himself to run faster, his eyes stinging with tears of terror.

Niez's high-pitched laugh cut through the air, sending shivers down Gohan's spine as he pushed himself to run even faster. His legs burned with exertion, but he dared not slow down, knowing that his pursuers were hot on his trail.

"You can't run forever, kid!" Salza's voice echoed through the trees, fueling Gohan's fear even further. He clenched his fists, pushing himself to go faster, desperate to escape their clutches.

Suddenly, Doore's figure loomed ahead, his outstretched arms reaching for Gohan in a desperate attempt to capture him. With lightning-fast reflexes, Gohan dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding Doore's grasp.

"Get back here, kid!" Doore's voice boomed behind him, but Gohan paid no heed as he continued to sprint through the forest.

As he ran, Gohan's panic mounted, his mind racing with thoughts of escape. But no matter how fast he ran, the forest seemed to close in around him, leaving him with nowhere to go.

But his escape route soon came to an abrupt end as he stumbled upon a dead end, his heart sinking as he realized he had run himself into a corner. Panic welled up inside him as he turned to face his pursuers, their menacing forms closing in on him.

Nowhere to go, Gohan braced himself for the inevitable confrontation, his fear threatening to overwhelm him. Niez's mocking laughter filled the air as the armored squadron closed in, their intent clear.

"No where to go now, kid," Niez taunted, his voice dripping with malice as he and his companions prepared to capture their prey.

Just as Doore reached out to grab him, a sudden blast pierced through the air, striking Doore straight in the head and sending him crashing to the ground, lifeless. Niez and Salza whirled around in shock, their eyes widening at the sight of a figure descending from the sky.

Gohan's eyes widened in shock as he looked at the figure descending from the sky, a familiar presence that sent a chill down his spine.

It was Piccolo Jr., the Namekian warrior his parents had told him stories about from their battles. Fear gripped Gohan's heart as he realized the gravity of the situation.

Salza and Neiz turned towards the sky, their expressions a mixture of surprise and anger at the unexpected intervention.

"What's a Namekian doing on this planet?" Salza demanded, his voice laced with irritation.

Piccolo Jr. leveled a steely gaze at the armored squadron, his tone commanding. "Leave Earth, unless you want to end up like him."

As Salza engaged Piccolo in combat, Gohan watched in awe as the Namekian warrior effortlessly dodged and countered Salza's attacks. Despite the overwhelming odds, Piccolo seemed unfazed, his movements fluid and precise.

Amidst the chaos, Piccolo noticed Gohan standing frozen in fear. With an evasive move, he blasted Salza away, he flew towards Neiz, delivering a powerful kick that sent the armored squadron member crashing into a nearby tree.

"Do you know how to fight, boy?" Piccolo questioned, his eyes focused on Gohan.

Gohan, eyes wide with fear, nodded hesitantly.

Piccolo, displaying a swift evasive move, flew towards Niez, kicking him forcefully into a nearby tree. He then turned his attention back to Gohan. "Then fight. If not, you'll die."

Gohan, overwhelmed by fear and uncertainty, nodded again. Piccolo grabbed him by the collar of his clothes, lifting him up. "You hear me, boy? Fight, or you won't make it out of this alive."

As they walked through the dense forest, Gohan hesitated for a moment before breaking the silence. "Thanks for saving me back there," he said, his voice filled with gratitude.

Piccolo grunted in response, his stoic demeanor unchanged. "Don't worry about it, " he replied, his eyes scanning their surroundings.

"What's your name, kid?"

"Gohan," he replied, his voice barely above a whisper. "And... why did you save me?" he ventured, curiosity mingling with his gratitude.

Piccolo's glare bore into him, his expression unreadable. "Because I did," he stated firmly before turning to walk away.

"Come on,"

Gohan hesitated for a moment, torn between following Piccolo or attempting to find his way back to the city. With a deep breath, he decided to follow the Namekian, his footsteps quickening to match Piccolo's pace.

As they continued, Gohan's concern for his mother weighed heavily on his mind. Unable to contain his worry, he finally spoke up. "Do you know what happened to my mom?" he asked, his voice tinged with anxiety.

Piccolo stayed silent for a moment, contemplating his response. Finally, he spoke, "I saw that guy who calls himself Cooler. He took her to the ship, and then the three went after you."

The news hit Gohan like a punch to the gut. His eyes welled up with tears, and his voice trembled as he whispered, "No... Mom."

Piccolo, visibly uncomfortable with the display of emotions, urged Gohan to stop. "Stop that" he barked, his annoyance evident.

But Gohan couldn't contain his grief. He continued to cry, his anguish echoing through the forest. Piccolo, growing increasingly agitated, tried to shake him out of it. "Enough! Crying won't change anything."

After walking for what felt like an eternity, they arrived at a tranquil lake surrounded by towering cliffs. Piccolo knelt by the water's edge, cupping his hands to take a handful of water and drink deeply.

"Drink something," Piccolo instructed, gesturing towards the lake.

Following his lead, Gohan knelt beside the water, scooping up a handful and bringing it to his lips. The cool water soothed his parched throat, offering a moment of respite amidst the chaos.

As they sat in silence, Gohan's mind raced with questions and concerns. "What are we going to do?" he finally asked, his voice tinged with uncertainty.

Piccolo regarded him thoughtfully before speaking. "I'm going to train you and take you under my wing," he replied, his tone matter-of-fact. "I'll teach you the demon way."

Gohan's eyes widened in shock, his heart pounding with disbelief. "But... I can't do that," he protested, his voice trembling. "I have to help my mom. I have to find a way to get her back."

Piccolo's gaze softened slightly, but his resolve remained firm. "And what are you going to do?" he countered, his voice edged with urgency. "You could barely handle one of those three."

Gohan winced at the reminder of his own inadequacy, his memories flashing back to the moments when Piccolo had intervened to save him. "I... I don't know," he admitted, his voice barely a whisper.

"Exactly," Piccolo replied, his tone unwavering. "Now you can either try to find your way back yourself, or you can come with me."

Gohan's heart raced with uncertainty as he weighed his options. Despite his fear and doubt, he knew that facing the unknown with Piccolo offered him the best chance of survival.

After a moment of contemplation, he took a deep breath and nodded. "I'll come with you."
