Sissie went out with Nice Girl and she came back crying. She sounded like a little girl and was saying something about how Nice Girl "knows too much". She was scared for some reason and it took all night for Mama to calm her down. "There, there, love, nothing's going to happen." Mama told her but Sissie just stopped screaming. She just stayed in bed all day afterwards but Nice Girl would come over to see her but she would only talk to Nice Girl from behind a window with the curtains pulled close.
She'd be so sad after visiting with Nice Girl. Mama asked her, "Why don't you just invite that girl inside, when you're uncovered?" Sissie shot that down very fast, telling her, "She can't know!" Mama was confused and so was I. I asked Ryuuko about it and she told me it might've been about that night. I wasn't too sure but Ryuuko said, "The night the house burned down."
"What happened that night?"
"All I know is that it was Sis stashed us in our room after Mom called her name, then it was a lot of yellin' and screaming, then it was these popping noises—like firecrackers—, and then Sis told us to get our stuff. After that, the house burned down."
"Oh. Is that all?"
"Well, Sis had some blood on her."
"Who's blood was it?"
"I don't fucking know."
Ryuuko was pretty whispery about that. I remember that she got in trouble for telling that story and she was in tears. Sissie's trying to protect us but Nice Girl won't hurt us, will she? No, she's so nice. She's never hurt Sissie. I asked Ryuuko if Sissie ever had any friends before Nice Girl. "Maybe, Rei, but we don't know what happened to Rei, but we ain't stay with her really long." she told me.
It really hurt because Sissie really liked Nice Girl.
