Sissie

"Sissie" is strange but she's so interesting, compared to everyone around here. She looks sort of familiar but I don't know where I've seen her from. Her sisters are just as weird, with one of them staring all the time and the other wanting to say something but staying hushed. Other than that, they seemed rather "normal", though the middle girl was a Troublemaker, with Underachiever after her.

Sissie herself is polite, demure, modest, elegant, for a girl who doesn't seem like she attends school, she's really learned, carrying herself in a very particular way. Well, other than flashes where she's like a little girl. However, I'd find myself thrown off by how quick she was to turn of the TV and the radio when a case from some years ago was mentioned.

That case was the "Kiryuuin Mystery". Much of the house was burned and the woman, Ragyo Kiryuuin, was found shot to death, but her three daughters were never found. The only thing the police knew was that the daughters likely weren't dead because their remains weren't found with their mother's. The fire was started deliberately after the murder, but no one knows who did either one, except the arson was "haphazard", as though a child did it.

After spending a bit of time with Sissie, I realized that Sissie was wearing makeup, but I never saw what she covered up with her makeup and long clothes. She hated the police, actually, if she thought they were coming, she'd gather up her sisters and hide. She told me, emphatically, that she hated the news and she sounded really paranoid. She was really evasive, especially with any personal questions.

"So, what happened to your parents?"

"They died."

"How, exactly?"

"In a fire—!"

"Hush!— They passed away in a fire."

"How long ago was that?"

"..."

"How old are you?"

"We're out of tea, oh. I'll go get some more."

I remember talking about Sissie with Gamagoori, Houka, and Uzu. "With the way she is, you'd think she was fugitive," I told them, "but she's so interesting." It was over coffee and it seemed like it got so quiet I could have a pin drop. Gamagoori asked me as to how old Sissie is and I told him I didn't know but she's around my age, most likely. Houka asked about her sisters and I told him that I didn't know their names. And Uzu told me she's strange.

"I know that. I've been knowing her for about six months but she's so interesting."

"How do you not know her sisters' names?"

"They never tell me and, hell, 'Sissie' is a name her sisters call her."

"Wait, so you've been knowing her for six months and she's never told you her name?"

"No, and that's not getting into how she dresses."

"How does she dress?"

"She wears long clothes and makeup. Sometimes, her hair is coiled in a bun."

"Where did she even come from?"

"I don't know. Hell, Underachiever's mom doesn't even know where Sissie and her sisters came from."

"How she's like, typically?"

"Well, she doesn't come to visit me, I go to visit her, but that's okay."

"Does she even go to school?"

"No, actually, but she's very learned. At some point, I heard her speaking to her sisters in French."

Somehow, the Kiryuuin Mystery came up, when Uzu pointed out that Madame Kiryuuin had three daughters who vanished around the time and, yet I was talking about a strange girl and her two younger sisters. Gamagoori pointed out that it could be a coincidence, while Houka said, "Sissie sounds a few syllables off from Satsuki and that was the oldest daughter's name."
