•••"Kiritsu!" The teacher's command echoed through the classroom, jolting the students from their seats. As one, they stood up, their gazes fixed respectfully on their Japanese literature teacher, Yamada-san.
But as the students straightened up, Mr. Yamada dropped a bombshell "Don't forget your exam next week," he announced with a mischievous grin before exiting the room.
Groans filled the air, accompanied by a chorus of exaggerated sighs.
"Why can't we have a peaceful weekend?" Mei moaned, her voice filled with frustration.
"They will never grant us that peace," Sakura lamented, her eyes rolling.
As the students filed out of the classroom, Tanaka hastily approached Aeris "See you at the gym, Nanachan," he said, barely breaking stride.
"Seeya," Aeris called after him, her voice trailing off
"Oh, you're going to Hyogo, right?" Reiko asked, her eyes gleaming mischievously.
"Yeah, I am," Aeris confirmed.
"I'll give you an excuse," Reiko offered, her voice filled with excitement. "I'll clean for you, and you'll clean for me, next week."
Aeris widened her eyes, stunned by the generosity of her friend. "What? Really?" she exclaimed, barely able to contain her excitement.
Reiko nodded, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. The two friends exchanged a warm embrace, their bond strengthened by the unspoken trust they shared.
"Aerissssuuuuuu!" Koharu, another member of their group, suddenly appeared and rushed towards them. She engulfed Aeris in a tight hug, pleading, "Please don't leave me!"
Aeris chuckled, returning the embrace. "I'll be back, guys," she assured them. "And I promise to bring back delicacies for everyone!"
A chorus of cheers erupted from those who remained in the classroom, their excitement palpable. "Nice, Aerisuuu!" Tomoya exclaimed, his enthusiasm infectious.
"You're welcome, but I have to go now," she said, . "I still have a flight to catch."
With quick farewells and well-wishes ringing in her ears, Aeris sprinted towards the gym.
"Guys!!" Aeris exclaimed.
"Nanachan, you're leaving," Tobio said.
"Yes! I have to go now. Bye, guys," Aeris said.
And they responded with a collective "Bye."
Aeris turned to exit the school grounds, and Kiyoko was standing next to her, causing her to curse "E: Shit".
"Sorry, Aeris-chan," Kiyoko said.
"It's fine, Kiyoko. See you guys next week," Aeris said.
"See you. Have a safe flight," Kiyoko wished her.
She ran outside of her school, and look for a taxi. Then went to the airport

She arrived at the airport on time, checked in, and made her way to the designated gate. She found a seat, settled down, and awaited her flight. As the minutes ticked by, an announcement crackled through the intercom, declaring that they would begin boarding soon.
Aeris couldn't contain her excitement. She wanted to share the news of her arrival with Harumi-san, but she wanted to surprise her. She resisted the temptation to reach for her phone and instead focused on the anticipation swirling within her.
When the time finally came, Aeris entered the airplane and easily located her seat. She settled in, slipping her phone and earphones out of her bag. The aircraft taxied down the runway, and the engines roared to life as it ascended into the sky.
Hours later, Aeris stirred from a peaceful slumber to the sound of the pilot's voice reverberating through the cabin. She removed her earphones to catch his words.
"We are now beginning our descent and approach for landing at Toyooka Airport. Please fasten your seatbelts and ensure your tray tables and seatbacks are in the upright position. Thank you for flying with us today."
As the wheels touched the ground, the passengers rustled to retrieve their luggage from the overhead cabins. Aeris, however, patiently waited for the crowd to thin out before she retrieved her backpack and exited the aircraft.
Stepping into the airport, Aeris walked briskly towards the exit. Since she had only brought a backpack, she didn't need to wait at the baggage claim. Without any delay, she made her way to the bus station.
Aeris boarded the bus, choosing a seat by the window. She gazed out at the vibrant night scene of Hyogo, the bustling streets alive with energy. The sights and sounds of the city drifted past as she reflected on the upcoming reunion.
An hour later, the bus arrived at the designated stop, which was a mere fifteen-minute walk from Harumi-san's house. Eager to finally see her friend, Aeris hopped off the bus and started walking down the dimly lit streets.
As she made her way, footsteps echoed faintly behind her. Aeris turned down the volume on her phone, her senses heightened. She couldn't shake the feeling that someone was following her (be safe yall)
Turned around and saw the twins, "Nanachannnn," they exclaimed in unison. "Osamu! Atsumu!" Aeris said with a smile with relief
They immediately hugged each other, jumping like three excited lunatics. "What are you doing here?" Osamu asked, a gesture of curiosity on his face.
Aeris rolled her eyes playfully and replied, "Obviously just visiting, I'll get going." Her sarcasm hung lightly in the air. "Of course," Atsumu intervened, "didn't I tell you that I'll visit when I can?"
The trio continued to talk and catch up as they walked closer to Harumi-san's house. Eventually, they bid their goodbyes, and Aeris instructed the twins to stay silent as she planned to surprise the family.
With the key Harumi-san had given to her, Aeris opened the gate and proceeded to unlock the front door. Bursting with excitement, she entered the house and yelled, "Aeris is back!"
To her delight, her cousin twins, who were sitting in the living room, immediately recognized her voice. They sprinted towards her and engulfed her in a tight, warm embrace. "Nanachan!" they exclaimed, their faces beaming with joy.
Just then, Harumi and Hide entered the living room, equally delighted to see Aeris. "Aeris-chan! Welcome home," Harumi said, embracing her tightly. The reunion filled the room with a sense of immense love and happiness.
"Have you eaten yet?" Harumi asked.
Aeris replied, "No, not yet. I'm starving." They gathered at the dining room to accompany Aeris, they spent the whole night catching up.
