"You mean you can join?" Michimiya asked, still processing the news."Wouldn't we be late because we decided not to continue playing?" Aihara said, doubt evident in her voice.
"If you decided to end it, why form this club? I know some-not some, but all of you-want to continue fighting for this club," Aeris said firmly. "I mean, you all know that I was kicked out of the team, but did you see me giving up? No, because I have new prospects, new hope. And your new hope is winning as a team."
"But we're not as good as the boys' team," Michimiya said, a hint of resignation in her voice.
"They might have a lot of support systems, but that doesn't mean the school just liked them and handed everything to them. They worked hard to be successful, just like we can," Aeris said passionately.
The girls' expressions softened, the frowns starting to fade.
"Don't be sad. Let's continue fighting and thriving. We can do this. So, what do you say?" Aeris asked, her voice filled with determination.
Aeris and Michimiya ran towards the faculty room and burst it open. Fortunately, only a few teachers were there, and they quickly bowed in apology before rushing to Kuroda Michiko-sensei, the Karasuno Girls' Volleyball Team advisor.
"Sensei, please tell me that you didn't call the Volleyball Association because we changed our minds," Michimiya said breathlessly.
"Really? You really changed your minds?" Kuroda-sensei asked, her expression shifting from surprise to hope.
Michimiya nodded vigorously. "Because Aeris-san convinced us, we'll give it a shot one more time."
Kuroda-sensei looked at Aeris, shocked. "You're..."
"Kageyama Aeris," Aeris said, completing the thought.
"Yes, yes, I know you. You went to Takenodai. The girls and I have been huge fans of yours," Kuroda-sensei said, her admiration clear.
Aeris blushed slightly, unused to the praise.
"Sensei, are you going to call them or what?" Michimiya urged, breaking the moment.
"Right, sorry," Kuroda-sensei said, snapping back to the task at hand. "But is it okay for a new member to join?"
"Yes, it is allowed. You just have to inform them that a new member will join," Aeris said confidently. "You'll just give out my information. I'm Kageyama Aeris, Outside Hitter, and number... wait, I don't have a number."
Kuroda-sensei reassured her with a kind smile. "Don't worry, I have an extra uniform. We actually anticipated three new members joining the team this year. Are you sure you want to join?"
Aeris's eyes sparkled with determination. "Yes, I am sure."
Kuroda-sensei chuckled, impressed by her conviction. "Alright then. What year and class are you in? I need to inform your teachers that you'll be representing our school in the tournament."
"I'm a second-year, Class 2," Aeris replied.
"Thank you, Kuroda-sensei," Michimiya added, bowing deeply. "And could you also help us excuse ourselves from classes tomorrow? We plan to dedicate the whole day to practice."Kuroda-sensei agreed with a nod and a smile. "Consider it done. I'm excited to see what you girls can achieve."Aeris and Michimiya bowed once more, their gratitude evident.
