The weekend arrived sooner than Aeris expected, and with it came a mix of nerves and excitement. She had officially decided to transfer to Karasuno High School, and she wanted the transition to be as smooth as possible. Her plan for the day was simple but important: get her uniform, buy her school supplies, and pick up groceries for dinner. She wanted everything prepared before her first day.
Aeris sat at the dining table that morning, still in pajamas, scribbling down her checklist on a small notepad. Uniform. Stationery. Notebooks. A new backpack. Snacks, obviously. And groceries for dinner because she wanted to cook something nice for Tobio after dragging him around town with her.
The door opened a moment later, and Tobio walked in, sweat-dampened from his early-morning workout. His hair was slightly messy, and he immediately reached for a bottle of water from the fridge.
"You're back early," Aeris said, looking up.
"Training finished quicker than I thought," Tobio replied, taking a long drink. He finally noticed the notebook in her hands. "What's that?"
"My plan for today," Aeris said proudly. "I need to buy my uniform and school stuff. Come with me?"
Tobio wiped his face with the edge of his shirt. "Yeah, sure. Let me shower first."
Aeris grinned. "Thanks, Tobio."
He didn't comment, but she saw the faint nod before he climbed the stairs.
While she waited, Aeris double-checked her list and mentally ran through the day. Transferring schools wasn't easy, especially after leaving Tokyo, but she was determined to adapt quickly. Besides, living with the Kageyamas meant she wouldn't be alone. Tobio might not show it, but he'd been surprisingly cooperative.
After a short while, Tobio came back downstairs, clean and dressed, and the two headed out.
Their first destination was the uniform shop near the station. The smell of new fabric filled the air the moment they stepped inside. The store was quiet, with neatly lined mannequins and racks organized by school.
Aeris approached the counter with a polite smile. "Ohayou!"
"Ohayou!" the saleslady returned warmly. "How can I help you today?"
"For Kageyama Aeris," she replied.
The woman nodded and disappeared into one of the back rooms. While waiting, Aeris glanced at Tobio, who was already flipping through a sports magazine he picked up from a small display.
After a minute, the saleslady returned. "Aeris-chan, come this way. Let's get you fitted."
Aeris leaned toward Tobio. "I'll be back."
He acknowledged her with a small nod, not looking up from the magazine.
Inside the fitting area, the saleslady helped her adjust the skirt and blazer. Aeris examined her reflection, smoothing the collar. The fabric felt crisp against her skin—new school, new life, new beginning.
"Is it alright?" the saleslady asked. "Any adjustments needed?"
Aeris shook her head. "No, it's perfect."
The woman smiled, pleased, and took the uniform to the counter for pricing. Aeris paid and returned to Tobio, who finally set the magazine down as they exited the store.
The next destination was the stationery shop just down the street. Its display windows were filled with colorful pens, stickers, notebooks, and shelves upon shelves of supplies. Aeris lit up instantly.
