The crowd was loud as Eliza finished her song.
"How are you all doing tonight?!" she asked the crowd who cheered and hollered as she spoke, "it has been an incredible honor to be here tonight and sing for you but know you're all excited to see the real act."
More cheers echoed through the already packed stadium as Brook held my hand. No matter how many shows we've done since the tour began last month, it's always overwhelming yet exciting to sing in front of a huge crowd with the person you love the most.
"Please join me in welcoming the dynamic duo to the stage!" Eliza said as the crowd cheered. Our parents were behind the stage with us and the kids before we headed to the stage. The crowd began chanting my and Brook's names at that moment so we handed the kids over to our parents who took them to the VIP box with their little sound-canceling headphones to watch the show.
"Ready?" I asked Brook who nodded with a smile.
"Always."
And so with that, we exchanged a kiss before we walked onto the stage, "How are we doing tonight Washington?!"
The crowd screamed louder than ever as we walked on stage while Eliza stepped off. "I feel like this crowd is louder than the last one, don't you agree, love?"
"Absolutely," Brook said earning more cheers from the crowd and us smiling, "are ready to have a good time?"
We sang and took a break for a few moments before returning to the stage once again.
"I know most if not all of you know this next song," Brook said and the crowd screamed as she smiled. I walked over to grab my guitar before walking over to the stools that had been placed on stage for a few moments. "If you know the words, sing along."
I strummed the string of the guitar as Brook joined me and sat beside me on her stool while placing the mic on the stand. I smiled and winked at her making her smile.
All those days watching from the windows
All those years outside looking in
All that time never even knowing
Just how blind I've been
Now I'm here, blinking in the starlight
Now I'm here, suddenly I see
Standing here, it's all so clear
I'm where I'm meant to beWe wrote this song two months before Hina was born and it was a song that we dedicated to both her and her brother. It's one of my favorite songs from the album and I know it was the same for Brook as she smiled towards the VIP box where our parents were with the kids.
And at last I see the light
And it's like the fog has lifted
And at last I see the light
And it's like the sky is new
And it's warm and real and bright
And the world has somehow shifted
All at once everything looks different
Now that I see youThe screen behind us showed images of the kids making the crowd awe as images fleeted through even though we had concealed the faces of Gryaon and Hina.
I smiled as my turn came up and did the same as Brook and looked at the VIP box where I knew the kids were watching the screen with fascinating curiosity as the photos flashed by.
All those days chasing down a daydream
All those years living in a blur
All that time, never truly seeing
Things the way they were
Now she's here, shining in the starlight
Now she's here, suddenly I know
If she's here, it's crystal clear
I'm where I'm meant to goThe fans had their phone's flashlights on as they sang along with us.
And at last I see the light
