The scent of fresh flowers immediately caught Yeonjun's nose as he walked past the reception desk. He tried to find his way around, but could only remember the way to the room where he had laid down briefly after the delicious breakfast. But as soon as he remembered the deal with Kim Jisoo, he shot up again and set off. He tried to find the common room, which turned out to be difficult in this maze.
"Hey, you!"
Yeonjun was suddenly stopped by a voice, looking into the fresh face of the secretary. As with other residents, Kim Taeyeon insisted that they help. So she leaned over the desk and pressed a jute bag into Yeonjun's hand, saying, "Please take this to the tall, brown-haired boy, he should be in the common room, probably on the windowsill as usual."
The secretary spoke neutrally, as if she had known the boy in front of her for years and not just for a few seconds. She didn't introduce herself, instructed him to do something he didn't even want to do, and he almost threw the bag at her on the keyboard if his name hadn't been called.
His head immediately snapped in the direction of Kim Jisoo's voice, who was standing in front of a large, open double door, waving at him. Yeonjun was happy for the first time because he was able to get out of this embarrassing situation with the receptionist. So he limped towards the tall male nurse, who patted him on the shoulder appreciatively. He tried not to let the pain Yeonjun felt in his shoulder show and pressed his prominent lips together. It was only when he was standing in the middle of the common room that he realized he was still holding the piece of cloth in his hands. He could make out the name 'Soobin' carefully embroidered on it.
Soobin, two simple syllables that really had a melodic sound. Some fabric stars were also attached to it.
The room in front of Yeonjun was spacious and bright.
The door of the common room was decorated with the curved lettering 'Hamkke', which meant 'together'. This was where the children and young people spent most of their time, where they could play and chat.
The front consisted of large, shiny window panes, while a large, round table stood in the middle of the Hamkke. The walls were decorated with framed pictures and inspirational sayings, and the smell of chalk and chocolate gave the room a cozy atmosphere. The beanbags and the large sofa were not the only things that made the room feel cozy; there was also a bench in front of the row of windows. With a quick glance at the windowsill, Yeonjun immediately recognized the owner of the bag.
The young man, whose dark hair set him apart, had his long legs bent on the windowsill and was fascinated by the beautiful view. Occasionally, the sun peeked out from behind the clouds and seemed to cast a spell over the boy, who was about the same age.
He sat there motionless, his arms wrapped tightly around his legs, as if nothing and nobody could rouse him from his stupor.
The slippers with 'Soobin' embroidered on them lay on the wooden floor, confirming to Yeonjun that he was handing the bag to the right boy. He would have preferred to just give it to Kim Jisoo and say that he could do the job himself. But he knew that the orderly could be stubborn and had the power to take Yeonjun's beloved ramen off the menu. He really didn't want to risk that. So Yeonjun resolutely approached the boy, whose gaze was directed outside, and handed him the bag without saying a word. After a few seconds of silence, Yeonjun cleared his throat, causing Soobin to flinch slightly. When he turned around and looked at the new boy with his round doe eyes, Yeonjun felt a lump in his throat. The rosy cheeks and full lips were familiar, as he had already seen him on the balcony this morning. He hadn't expected to meet him again so soon.
