"Every pointy object you own," Kim Jisoo emphasized, finally getting to the point to take care of Choi Yeonjun. He had let the boy rest, unaware that Yeonjun couldn't relax and had just been lying in his bed thinking about why he might be here. He thought through every reason in his head, hoping to find something. Last night had been nerve-wracking, especially the action of Huening Kai, who had woken the whole house with his extremely loud singing. The caretaker had of course already heard about it; he was alerted immediately in the morning and then took care of the young singer. Yeonjun was his protégé and he trusted him. "I'm really sorry I couldn't be here sooner. I thought I'd give you time to look around here a bit before I went to get the things," Kim Jisoo explained in a calm voice.
His name tag shone and he held the box tightly in his arms while Yeonjun rummaged in his sports bag. He put his pocket knife, cigarettes, a razor and his smartphone in the container, then looked at the orderly to let him know that he had nothing left. "Is that all?" Kim Jisoo asked as a precaution and Yeonjun nodded before slipping both hands into the pockets of his hoodie. "If not, I'm afraid we'll have to go through your things."
"I don't have anything," Yeonjun said, letting the orderly hear his voice for the first time.
Kim Jisoo was surprised, but happy at the same time.
Something had probably happened to make him talk again, even if it wasn't much. The short answer was enough.
"Our deal is still open," Kim Jisoo smiled, patted Yeonjun on the shoulder and said goodbye with a short bow, "feel free to look around here a bit. Maybe you'll find a place or two that you like."
He hadn't forgotten the deal the two of them had made so that Yeonjun could mingle a little. Perhaps he would manage to take advantage of the opportunity tonight, after all, his stomach was already tightening with anticipation at the thought of the ramen dish, even though he had only eaten breakfast a few hours ago.
Was it the thought of yesterday that was bothering him so much?
"Hopefully I'll see you at lunch," Kim Jisoo reminded him with a raised index finger, then grinned and disappeared from the room.
Now the boy was alone again within his own four walls.
He didn't know where his Japanese roommate Shotaro was, and Yeonjun didn't really care.
He was much more interested in where Soobin would be, and looking out of the window, where he had a direct view of the forest, Yeonjun bit his lower lip tensely. Why did he even want to know and why did he feel like he had to go and see if he might bump into Soobin again?
Why did he wonder why he was standing on the balcony in the early morning cold, what was so fascinating about this view? He stood in front of the window for a few more minutes, thinking about it, before deciding to go down to the lower floor. Although he had no desire to see other teenagers, especially not the ones from last night, he decided to at least have a look around and keep a good distance from the reception. He had no intention of being given yet another task and turned right as soon as he reached the bottom of the stairs. But he immediately regretted this when he realized that this small corridor led to the place where he had collapsed on the first day.
