Wroomsss ...
It was an incredibly loud noise that startled the two teenagers out of their sleep.
What the hell was that?
Barely an hour ago, Yeonjun had finally managed to close his eyes and fall into a dreamless sleep, but now he was wide awake and sitting bolt upright in his bed. It was pitch black, but the light in the hallway shone through the slits in the door, and when he glanced over to where his roommate was sleeping, he recognized the bulging eyes staring back at him. By now he had become accustomed to Shotaro's gaze. The loud banging could be heard again, and it sounded as if someone was tearing the entire lower floor apart.
Into every single piece.
Confused, Yeonjun got out of bed and slipped into his slippers until another loud noise filled the silence, this time it sounded like something had fallen on the floor, many things in a row.
"What's that?" Yeonjun asked into the darkness, addressing the Japanese man, who pushed the blanket slightly away from his mouth.
"Ka-i."
"Kai is that?"
Nodding, Shotaro was probably quite sure it was Kai.
"Are you sure?"
Shotaro nodded vigorously. Dead certain.
Grumbling in annoyance, Yeonjun opened the door and stuck his head out. He was already aware that his roommate would not be accompanying him, as this seemed to happen more often. It was now the second time that Kai had woken him from his sleep. He didn't count his outburst of joy at the sun as one of them. Yeonjun hurried down the stairs with quick steps and spotted some of the residents at the entrance to the common room. Like a small cluster, they were all standing close together and seemed to be watching the incident.
"Don't just stand there like that!" an angry voice could be heard shouting. "Get an attendant!"
Before Yeonjun could reach what was happening, Jiwon rushed past him, seemingly complying with the request and fetching an orderly. Everyone was still in their pyjamas and seemed visibly overwhelmed by the situation.
There was another loud roar that made everyone flinch, then all the leaves flew around. Yeonjun stood on tiptoe at the edge of the group so that he could look over the people and see what was going on inside. The only thing he could see, however, was Kai, who was throwing books around with a bright red face. A few chairs had been knocked over, a small shelf was lying on the floor and the wooden floor was covered in loose leaves and books.
It was another outburst, but what had triggered it?
What had it taken to make the boy so angry?
Raging, destructive.
"I heard that he's no longer allowed to go to group therapy because of his weirdos," a girl whispered in the ear of a dark-blonde boy, "and even less so now, I bet you are."
