December 12th, 10:14 A.M.
Parker's POV:

I woke up to the sun shining in through Chester's cracked blinds. I got out of bed to brush my teeth and get Ibuprofen for when Chester would wake up. I feared his soreness for today.
Don't get me wrong, as much as I enjoyed the sex, I wanted to take him out on a real date. I planned to take him ice skating in the city tonight, even though he's terrible at it. I began to make eggs and bacon on our small stove top while Chester slept longer. By the time I had finished breakfast, he had stumbled downstairs in my sweatshirt, with a pained look on his face as he sat down. I looked at him and repressed a laugh as he put his forehead on the table.
"Shut upppp," he groaned at my reaction. I laughed quietly as I put some food onto his plate.
"It's not funny," he said.
"I know it's not, i'm sorry," I answered while taking a seat in front of him.
"I didn't even think about how bad it would hurt today," Chester explained.
"I mean, you were pretty caught up in the moment," I replied while trying to hold back a smile. This time, he laughed first.
"I don't know how I feel about this," he said while shaking his head and smiling.
"About what bro?"
He paused for a moment and set down his fork, looking sort of confused when he began to talk.
"This. I've been in love with you for my entire life, and now we are spending our mornings joking about the sex we had last night. I don't know, it just feels surreal. I'm afraid of what could come," he admits. I sat silently for a second before returning his gaze to mine.
"You know i'm not just in this for that, right?" I asked hesitantly. He shrugged in reply.
"Yeah." But he sounded doubtful.
"Chester, I mean that. I wanted to take you on a real date tonight. That's beside the point. I just don't want you to overthink this. I know we've taken things quickly, but i've been thinking about this for awhile too. Maybe not my whole life, but I've been reconsidering my sexuality for years. I really like you, and I don't want you second guessing that. Okay?"
He just stared at me for a moment before nodding.
"Okay." He picked up his fork and continued eating with a slight blush spread across his cheeks. I must've been watching him for too long because he stopped chewing and glanced at me.
"What?"
I blinked and looked down at my plate.
"Nothing," I answered. I saw him smile slightly and finish his food. He stood up to take his dishes to the sink, immediately returning to his chair once he felt a sharp pain in his back. I gently took his plate and washed it, feeling his gaze linger on my spine.
"So, a 'real date' huh?"
I spun around slowly, remembering my words from a few minutes ago.
"Yeah. I was going to see if you wanted to go ice skating later," I replied hesitantly.
"I'd love to," he said while slowly getting up and kissing my cheek. I wrapped my arms around him, kissing the top of his head. I breathed deeply into his ginger hair while holding him close. I felt one of our cats brush against my legs, pulling me back into reality. I let him go and kissed him quickly, returning to the dishes.
The afternoon passed slowly. I did some editing and Chester took a nap, and soon enough we were both hungry. I suggested we stop to get some food and then go ice skating, to which he reluctantly agreed. When he came downstairs after getting ready to leave, he was wearing a dark maroon sweater with sleeves that were slightly too long for him and a pair of dark jeans. I was wearing a gray hoodie with black jeans. I grabbed my winter coat off of the hook by our front door and handed it to Chester so he wouldn't be cold on the ice.
"You look nice," I commented quietly. I saw him smile at the compliment and reply soon after.
"You do too," he said in response. We walked out to our car as I got into the drivers seat. Soon we arrived at our favorite restaurant, sitting down and placing our orders. We laughed and talked over our food, soon after paying the check to continue our date.
When we got to the ice skating rink I paid for both of our skates. I took Chester's hand and pulled him towards the ice.
"Ready?"

7:31 P.M.
Chester's POV:

"Ready?" Parker asked. I nodded in response and held his hand back. He intertwined our fingers, soon doing the same with my other hand. He stood facing me, skating backwards while teaching me how to move my feet. He dragged me along the ice as "Last Christmas" by Wham! played on the speakers above. I loved this song.
We continued skating together until I thought I could balance on my own.
"Okay, let me try by myself now," I instructed. He gently let go of my hands and repositioned himself to skate next to me. I glided across the ice slowly, moving my feet at a steady pace.
"Hey look, I'm doing i-!" I was interrupted by a fast skater passing by, setting me off balance. Parker quickly came closer to me, putting his hands on my waist while I grabbed his shoulder to keep me steady. I felt my cheeks turn red from embarrassment.
"Thanks," I said quickly while he removed his hands from my hips. He nodded and licked his lips, taking one of my hands and skating next to me. I looked around at other people skating, nervous for strangers to be watching. To my surprise, nobody was. We contently held hands while the world passed us by, laughing and talking the way we always have.
By the time an hour or so had passed, we both decided it was time to go. On the way home, Parker drove to a gas station not too far from our house. He pumped gas into the car and then went inside, quickly returning with a cherry slushy. He handed it to me with a smile as I took it from his hands. I thanked him as he parked in a parking spot nearby. I unbuckled my seat belt and turned to face him slightly, putting my knees against my chest and my shoeless feet on the seat.
"I had fun tonight," I said to him.
"Me too," he replied.
We sat in a comfortable silence for a few moments, before Parker starting to speak again.
"Do you remember that time in middle school when we had to do a science presentation, but we stayed up all night playing video games, so we stood in front of the room in silence?"
I processed his comment for a moment before a smile grew on my face.
"Yeah, we were idiots," I shook my head and laughed.
"Still are," he agreed.
"Still are," I repeated.
"How about the time my mom caught me on FaceTime with you in the middle of the night when we had school the next day?"
We continued sharing old memories as laughter filled the car. By the time we had ran out of stories, it was a quarter past nine. Parker began to drive home as I turned on some music. "Let the Light in" by Lana Del Rey began to play. This was a song Parker knew I liked, so he learned all the words so we could sing it in the car together. This time, he started singing first when the main part came on.
"Ooh, let the light in, at your back door yelling cause I wanna come in," he sang along.
I laughed and joined in.
"Ooh, turned your light on, look at us you and I back at it again," we sang in sync.
When the song ended, we were only a few seconds away from home. We pulled into the driveway and turned off the car, both of us hopping out. It was cold out, so we went inside quickly. I told Parker that I was gonna go shower since I was cold.
"Should we do a group shower to save water?" he yelled as I was walking upstairs.
"Parkerrr," I warned.
"Kidding," he yelled back. After, I heard him say in a quieter voice, "Unless you aren't."
I laughed to myself as I entered the shower.
By the time I was done showering, I had put on a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie. I walked into my room to already find Parker with wet hair and a loose T-shirt.
"I don't know how you're not freezing," I said while quickly getting under my covers. He put his arm around me and pulled me closer.
"I have you to keep my warm," he muttered into my hair while kissing the top of my head. I tilted my head up at him as he moved my face closer to his. I kissed him, and after a moment tried to pull away, but Parker had other ideas. He gently took my face into his warm hands and sat up, bringing my lips back to his. I brought my hand up to his jawline, gently tuning my hand over his smooth skin. I felt him try to deepen the kiss, but pulled away.
"Not tonight," I whispered while looking at him.
"We don't have to do anything," he said softly. I was tired. He pulled me into him as I kissed him deeply one last time. It wasn't full of lust or passion, more of love and affection. He responded in the same way. I rested my head on his chest and closed my eyes.
"Night, Parker," I whispered as I drifted into sleep.
"Good night, Chester," he replied quietly.
