"Is this the cousin you were talking about, Draco?" a girl with black hair asked.

"Yes, this is her," Cassiopeia said, flashing a confident grin. "Cassiopeia Black. You can call me Cassie."

She leaned casually against the doorframe, a cocky giggle playing on her lips. "Nice to meet you all."

"Hey, I am Katherine Rosier." A girl with brown hair extended her hand, smiling. Cassie shook it, grinning back.

"Pansy Parkinson," the black-haired girl said, offering a polite smile. Cassie returned it with a cocky tilt of her head.

"Blaise Zabini," a boy sitting next to Pansy said, giving her an appraising look.

"Daphne Greengrass," a blonde girl identical to Cassie added.

They talked for a while, and Cassie instantly felt connected with them, especially Katherine and Daphne. She liked their energy.

"So, what house are you hoping to get into, Cassie?" Blaise asked.

"Slytherin. She is the heir of Salazar himself, Zabini. Catch up," Draco said, rolling his eyes.

"Wait, you are a Gaunt?" Pansy asked, raising a curious brow.

"Yes, the daughter of Athena Gaunt," Draco said, rolling his eyes again.

"YOU ARE THE DAUGHTER OF THE ATHENA GAUNT? ATHENA GAUNT IS YOUR MOTHER?" Katherine nearly shouted.

Cassie chuckled at her excitement. "Yeah, I assume you're a fan."

Her mother was a well-known Quidditch player, a Chaser—and an excellent one at that.

"ARE YOU KIDDING? I LOVE HER. You look a lot like her now that I think about it."

It was true. Athena, Aurora and Cassie looked similar—wavy blonde hair, ocean-blue eyes. It was the Gaunt

"I AM. BLAISE IS A BIG FAN OF HER. LOOK AT HIM."

Blaise looked at Cassie in awe, which she took full advantage of. She leaned forward, smirking. "Blaise, I get it. I'm absolutely fascinating, but you're staring."

Draco groaned. "Zabini, please stop looking at my cousin like that."

They all burst into laughter at the look on Blaise's face.

After a train ride filled with laughter and fun, the six of them left the Hogwarts Express.

"Yeh'll get yer firs' sight o' Hogwarts in a sec," Hagrid called. "Jus' round the bend here."

The narrow path opened suddenly on the edge of the great black lake. Perched atop a high mountain was a vast castle with many turrets and towers. It looked just as impressive as Cassie had imagined.

"No more'n four to a boat," Hagrid called, pointing to a fleet of little boats sitting in the water by the shore.

Cassie slid into a boat with Katherine, Pansy, and Daphne while Draco, Blaise, Crabbe, and Goyle took another.

They floated across the glassy surface of the lake, the reflection of the castle shimmering in the water. The closer they got, the more excited Cassie felt. This was it—Hogwarts, the start of a new adventure.

Hagrid led them up to the massive castle doors and raised a gigantic fist, knocking three times. The sound echoed around them, and Cassie felt a grin tug at her lips. Whatever was waiting behind those doors, she was ready for it.
