"This is the dumbest idea you've ever had," Cassie said flatly, arms crossed as she leaned against the wall of the Gryffindor common room. "And that's impressive considering your usual ideas are already awful."

Granger scowled. "No one's making you come, Black."

"Believe me, I don't want to. But someone has to be the voice of reason, and clearly, it's not going to be any of you."

Harry looked at her with that determined Gryffindor expression that made her want to shake him. "We have to do this. Snape's after the Stone, and if we don't stop him—"

Cassie groaned and rubbed her temples. "Stop saying that. It's not Snape. You really think Dumbledore would let Snape get away with stealing the Philosopher's Stone? It's obviously someone else."

Hermione looked torn. "Even if that's true, we know someone is going after it tonight. We can't just sit back and do nothing."

"You can't sit back and do nothing," Cassie corrected. "I absolutely can."

Except she wouldn't. They all knew it.

She let out an exasperated sigh. "Fine. Fine! But let's be clear: if we get expelled, I'm blaming all of you."
