I awake very slowly. I'm in that weird phase where you're half awake half asleep so I can feel my body nested in Ashton's arms and hear the little noises around me.
"Rise and shine, fuckwits." The door creaks open and I'm able to comprehend that it's Calum.
"Shh!" Ash quickly replies, irritated and I feel him shift slightly. "Block your ears next time. It's called selective hearing."
"You bitch." Cal retaliates.
Least he seems cool with it. I thought maybe he'd think it's strange but I guess over the last two weeks he's also got to know me more than just a student.
"Shush you'll wake her! You know she needs sleep. Get out." Ash whispers yells.
"Yeah well it's seven o'clock I'm going to school so you guys better get up soon or you'll be late."
"Thanks." Ash mumbles and I feel his head lay back down on his pillow. You can feel the eye roll.
He pulls the duvet to cover right up to our necks and holds me into his chest tighter. My ear rests over his heart making it the last thing I hear before I fall back into complete slumber.
I come back to my conscious state, unaware what the time is or how long it's been since I fell back asleep, but my god does sleep feel good. After having months, no, years without a decent night sleep, it's more than I could ever ask for.
I'm still in the same position, curled into Ashton with his arm secured around me. I start to peel open my eyes, breathing calmly as bright rays of light stream through peaks in the curtains. My eyes squint and look away from the curtains, frowning to myself in confusion about what time it is. I know it's a school day and surely it's time that Ash and I get up.
His chest steadily rises and falls and light snores leave his lips. I don't want to stir too much incase it's too early to wake up. He looks so peaceful with his eyelids softly closed and lips slightly parted. An angel you could say.
I cringe when I make movement in his arms to reach my phone, tapping the screen to look at the
time.'10:11 am'
My brows furrow in disbelief, making me reread it to confirm the time. It is indeed 10am and my eyes aren't playing tricks on me. Nothing could change the fact we are currently an hour and a half late for school, but now the focus is how late we'll be.
"Shit." I whisper, now remembering when I was half awake and Calum came in to tell us to
get up. That was nearly three hours ago."Ash," I poke his shoulder and try wriggling out of his arms locked around me. "Ashhh." I draw
out and shake him a little firmer. He doesn't budge but tightens his hold on me which doesn't help the situation.
"Ashton," I push his chest, making him groan.
"Ash, we gotta get up." I whine. With a long exhale through his nose he moves his body down so that his head lay on my chest and his heavy arm drapes over my torso.
"Ashton fucking Irwin!" I flick his ear making him finally pick his head up and rub his groggy eyes.
"Oww what was that for?" He holds his ear and squints his eyes from the sudden brightness.
"We are so late Ash!" I go to throw off the duvet but he grabs my arms before I can go any further.
"Baby, baby." He giggles.
"Ash, this is serious! Don't laugh."
"Lay back down sweetheart."
