You all heard the warden's footsteps fade into the distance, finally feeling relief as the threat dissipated.
You turned to lay on your back, slowly regulating your breathing after the bastard kicked the air out of you, making it difficult to circulate your oxygen intake.
"Are you okay?" Ashley asked you with puffy eyes, trying her best not to cry in a situation like this. You caressed her cheek and gave of a pained but genuine smile.
"I'll live!" You exclaimed excitedly but soon found yourself groaning just for the effort.
"You idiot..." You hear Andrew say, his features taking on a dull expression. You slowly sat up to be eye-to-eye with the siblings, ignoring the pain you felt in your abdomen as you ruffled both their heads.
"Hey, what's with those frowns? I'm fine, really! Besides he's not going to get away with that. Oh no he's gonna get some real bad beatings from karma itself, so cheer up!"
You pretend to feel like that guy didn't even graze you, but to be completely honest you're in unbearable pain just by sitting up so you left yourself to fall back down on the floor.
"I am pretty hungry though..." You said as you closed your eyes to try to focus on something else to distract the hunger.
Thought not convinced, the Graves siblings let out a tired sigh, for the adrenaline they felt a few minutes ago slowly wore off and they felt just as exhausted. They decided to join you on the floor, Andy laying down on your right while Leyley was on your left.
You were all still a little shaken by what happened, so to find some type of comfort you all unconsciously got closer and held each other. Leyley wrapped her arms around your left arm and basically hugged you tightly, while Andy scooted down to use your legs as a pillow as well as reaching for your free hand to hold in his own.
The three of you stared off into the ceiling, not speaking, it was a rather comfortable silence. You can stay in this position all day long.
As much as you and Andy enjoyed a quiet room, Leyley never liked it, she needed to have a conversation or something, otherwise she get's overwhelmed with her own thoughts.
"One of you, talk about something." She demanded."I got nothing."
"Neither do I."
Both you and Andy answered truthfully as you began to think on what to talk about.
"Soo....Parasites?" You started off bluntly, and by doing so you actually caught you're own attention.
"Now that I think about it, I'm not feeling anything abnormal so I want to say that I'm not infected. But what about you guys, do you feel anything different?"
Its been a few months for them, so if they were infected, surely they would be having some kind of symptoms by now right?
"Just hunger." Leyley answered sounding almost uninterested in the subject. "We should be feeling ill by now but I haven't noticed anything." Andy answered as well, giving you a little more of a concrete answerThe more you think about these 'parasites' the less it all makes sense to you. First of all, there's a fatal bacteria going on in this apartment, to which Andy and Leyley claimed that they were told it was a positive infection.
Second, you've been in here for a while now and not a single doctor or nurse for that matter came to do testing on you.
And third. There. Are. No. Symptoms. The only thing you feel that's killing you is your stomach, as it constantly growls at you, demanding sustenance .
"Now that you've mentioned it, the nurse that took our blood never even bothered to come back. Like, don't you want to monitor us?"
Andy began understanding where you were coming from, it just doesn't make sense. This so called fatal parasite, it must be fake, some kind of cover up even. But if it was, then why do they really have you guys locked up against your will?
"Ugh, who cares..." Leyley groaned, not interested in the conversation what's so ever."We do Ashley. We care."
"Well I don't care. Nor care that the two of you care. Aside from starving, it's not so bad in here~"
Leyley sounded amused for a moment, causing both you and Andy to look at her with confused faces "Come again?" he asked her.
"Aside from starving, I like it here." She said bluntly, a small smile threatening to take over her face.
