Back to Onya's point of view

"You.", she repeats. "These are for you to try on for the spring fling dance." "You're not gonna budge on this, are you?", I asked. "Nope.", she replied as she inched the dresses closer to me. I gave her an amused look as I took the dresses from her hand and went into the fitting room. "I'll be right outside the fitting room if you need me!", she calls. Alright let's see what we have here.

I tried on the mermaid floral dress first. Honestly, it gave me more summer vibes than spring. Maybe I can get this dress for my 17th birthday. I stepped out of the fitting room and showed Soleia the dress. "It's pretty, but it doesn't really match the theme." It's funny she said that since she's the one that picked out the dresses for me to wear. I'm still gonna get this one though. Next, I took a look at the pink a-line satin dress. I don't like it. It looks wrinkled and I'm not the biggest fan of satin, unless you're talking about bonnets and pillowcases.

I tried on the boho strapless tie back paisley maxi dress third and looked at it again in the mirror before I came out of the dressing room. "It's cute but I feel like it's missing something." And the thing that it's missing is the theme. When I tried on the black rhinestone cutout midi dress, it took some time to process that I literally look like the human personification of the letter v. I came out to show her the fourth dress. "Girl, what drew you to this dress? The bottom makes me  look like the human personification of the letter v."

"It's unique and the rhinestones are a nice detail.", she adds. She's right about that but this dress really isn't my style. I went back in the fitting room and tried on the fifth and final dress: the olive green tie back mermaid dress. After I put the dress on it was like it was nudging me to get it. I love anything green and the dress hugs my curves perfectly. I came out to showed her the last dress and she was in awe. "Yep, that's the one. You look so beautiful. Old boy won't know what to do with you when he sees you in this dress.", she starts.

"Who's old boy?", I asked. "You know...that guy in your physics class."  "You mean Justin? Nah, he doesn't like me like that. "He definitely likes you like that.", she continues. "If he does like me, how come he didn't ask me to the dance?" "Because boys are slow. They don't value you until they see you with someone else.", she adds. "Was that the case with you and Caleb?", I said. "No, Caleb's a take charge kind of guy. He knew we had a connection from when we first started talking and he didn't hesitate to act on it.  Maybe he was thinking of asking you to the dance but was scared of rejection. Question is, do you like him?", she finishes.

"I mean he's nice, funny, and handsome. I'd be lying if I said I didn't think about him in more than a platonic way." "Aww, Onya's got a crush", she teases. "Shut up.", I say as I playfully slap her arm. "Well you gotta go to the dance whether he asks you or not. That dress is too pretty for it to be wasting away in your closet." 'How much is this dress anyway?', I thought. I  felt around the dress searching for the tag. When I went to look at the dress, I almost felt lightheaded. $64.90! Thank god Soleia is paying for all this. She obviously has a lot more money to spend on things like this.

I changed out of the dress and back into my regular clothes. I gave the other 3 dresses back to the associate by the room and held the other two in my hand. Now that we got our dresses, it was time to accessorize. Soleia picked up a rhinestone ring purse, ring set, silver hoop earring set, and knit bow stilettos. I picked up a rhinestone collar, earring, and bracelet set and black block heels. We brought our items to be rang up and the register and by the time the cashier finished scanning everything, Soleia didn't even flinch at the price.

"Your total is $346.72.", the cashier said. She pulled out her debit card and I gave her some space as the put her pin. After we finished shopping at Windsor, I checked the time. It was now a quarter to 6. We weren't completely done with our shopping spree though. We stopped at Auntie Anne's and got some cinnamon sugar pretzel bites, spent some time in the massage chairs, and Burlington to look for some perfume.
