~Genevieve ArellanoMy palms start sweating, I rub them against my legs and try to slow down my heart rate by breathing in and out. You're overreacting. I know. I can't help it, I'm nervous, especially because Harry is involved. But of course, I am not going to mention that part.
I clear my throat, "Father, I was wondering if I could go to a party on the weekend." I say as quickly as I possibly could.
Cam starts choking and my father drops his fork on the table, they both stay silent for a moment before my dad answers.
"Why the sudden interest? You never go to parties."
He's right, I don't, but the thought of spending more time with Harry makes me want to go, "I just want to go, that's all."
His eyebrows furrow, he's contemplating on whether on not he should let me go, "I don't know Genevieve."
"Look, I'm seventeen years old. You can't protect me from the world forever."
His eyes soften, "I know Genevieve but..."
"No, please let me go, you let Cam go!" I argue. I know it's childish to pull out the other sibling card but I have no choice.
"That's different." He says and I roll my eyes. Typical.
"No it's not." My patience is running thin.
"Gen, stop arguing." Cam intervenes, I shoot him a glare. He doesn't know how it feels, our father doesn't mind him going out.
"No. I'm sick and tired of being treated like a ten year old. Please just let me go." I plead.
My father releases a big sigh, "Fine."
My eyes almost fall out of their sockets, did he just say fine? My over protective father just agreed to let his only daughter go to a party? It's clear that Cam is just as surprised, his jaw dropped the second the words left my fathers mouth.
"Really?" I beam, I get out of my chair and run around the table. You wonder why they treat you like a ten year old. My conscience says in my head but I don't care.
"Thank you, thank you!" I scream and run up the stairs.
My first ever party, and I'm going with Harry!
I unlock my phone and click on Harry's name.

To:HarryHey it's Gen x

I sit and wait for a reply, was the kiss a bit too much? Oh no, he's going to think I'm weird isn't he. I roll my eyes. What was I thinking...My thoughts are stopped when my phone buzzes.

I send Harry my address and then we speak about what each of us are going to wear. I need to know what is appropriate for this kind of party as I've never been to one before. After an hour or so, I finally say goodnight to Harry and get ready for bed. I look at the time, 11:49? Already? I'm going to be exhausted tomorrow.
I lay back and stare at the ceiling, I'm both excited and nervous for Saturday. I'm excited because I've never went to a party before and I'm going with Harry, but I am also nervous because I don't know what to expect. Sure I hear everyone talk about it at school, but I usually drown it out.
I've heard a lot of bad things about parties, but I need to stop overthinking it. I will drive myself crazy if I carry on thinking this way. I close my eyes and eventually drift off.

I'm not sure which chapter the party will be in yet, but it will be very soon. I hope you're enjoying the story so far. Vote and comment please.
