Pat's embrace was warm and calming. Nonsee didn't want to let go of him. For the first time, he felt like he belonged somewhere.
"I can't believe I have you finally in my arms," Pat whispered, breaking the spell that fell on them. Non looked up, pulling away from him. He didn't know how to react. The handsome doctor made him speechless.
"You are crazy, P'Pat," Nonsee said after a moment of silence.
"Am I?"
"Hmm.... You could have gotten hurt. The wall is high." Non frowned, eying the white barrier.
"But I succeeded in climbing it and got to you." Pat winked. Nonsee's cheeks turned pink, and he hid back into the taller's chest. This man had no shame.
"Tell me, Non. Is your mother and grandmother that bad? Grandma Chor told me some things." Pat asked, tightening the grip on him. Non hesitated before he nodded.
"They don't like me because I am weird." He whispered.
"You are not weird. Don't say things like this." Pat pulled away, grabbing him by the shoulders.
"You don't know anything, P'Pat. I am a monster." Nonsee huffed.
"No one can love monster." He struggled to get free. But the older man didn't let him.
"Show me, and I will tell you how wrong you are." The doctor was determined. Nonsee shook his head before he looked around. He spotted the bush with buds, hesitating before he moved towards it.
"Are you sure?" Non asked. The doctor nodded, observing his every move. Nonsee reached for the tiniest bud he could see and released his power. The faint yellow light covered the view, and before Pat could say anything, the bud bloomed into a beautiful red flower.
"You are not a monster. You are the prettiest fairy I ever saw." Pat breathes out.
"Fairy?" Nonsee repeated. He was never called like this before.
