The Discovery

Maya POV

Ziggy, Asher, and I were in the Mess Hall waiting in line for are food. Yesterday I told Ziggy and Asher that I am gay and since I told them I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulder it felt like my friendship with the two has grown especially knowing that the two accept me for me and don't view me differently.

"Ugh this food is disgusting." Ziggy complained as we walked out of line carrying our food.

"Ah c'mon Zig it's not that bad." Asher said trying to cheer Ziggy up as the three of us walked to a empty table.

Ziggy glares at Asher, "How many times do I need to tell you to stop calling me Zig." Ziggy exclaimed, making Asher grin at getting a reaction from Ziggy.

"Oh, c'mon Ziggy you let Maya call you that plus were friends and friends call each other nicknames." Asher tells her as we sat down at are table.

"Maya is allowed to call me that because like you said were friends while you and- "

"Hey cousin."

"Witch."

I sighed before I turned around to see Will and Sheila smirking with their goons behind them.

Ziggy and I stand up and face them.

"What do you want Sheila?" Ziggy asks, crossing her arms glaring at Sheila.

I noticed campers now paying attention to us.

"Where the hell is Nick? Where are the rest of the counselors?"

"Nothing from you witch." Sheila said and turns her attention to me, "Will and I wanted to ask Maya if what we heard is true."

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion and look at Ziggy who also looks confused as well having no clue what Sheila is talking about.

"What the hell are you talking about?" I asked, feeling uneasy at Will and Sheila smirking.

Will chuckles as he looks at me, "Is it true that Nick blurted out at the campfire that you are in a relationship" Will unexpectedly ask taking me by surprise.

I looked at him in shocked as a million thoughts went through my head.

A million thoughts went through my head but before I could lie Will laughs.

"So, it is true. Wow did not you to be in a relationship I would've thought Sinclair would be in a relationship first rather than you." Will said between laughs as Sheila joins in laughing as well.

I clenched my hands at him mentioning Lucas it was well known to her friends that Will was indeed racist out of the party members Will treated Lucas the worst it was no surprise that Will befriended Troy when he and Nick visited during the summer.

Once will stopped laughing he continued talking, "You being in a relationship means you found someone just like you and that Byers." Will pauses and steps closer to me to me the two of us now face-face.

"What's the word that defines you two." Will sarcastically ask mockingly thinking he snaps his fingers, "Now I remember the word is Dy-"

I punch Will in the face knocking him to the floor I get on top of him and continue to punch him till I am pulled off him and turned around to see it was Sheila who pulled me off Will. Before I could protect myself, she slaps me hard in the face no doubt leaving a hand print. She is unexpectedly tackled by Ziggy to the floor.

The campers cheer loudly enjoying the brawl that is happening between the two girls.

"YOU'RE DEAD, GOODE!"

I turn around to see Will standing up glaring at me with hatred in his eyes, "Dead!" He yelled.

Will starts running towards me but stops running leaving me confused as well as the rest of the campers who averted their attention to Will and I.

I rush over towards Ziggy and pull her away but not before Ziggy punches her again.

"Dude Will peed himself." A camper announced making everyone laugh at Will who looked absolutely embarrassed.

"Wait this is exactly what happened with..."

I let go of Ziggy and turn around to see Asher wiping the blood that fell from his nose.

"Holy shit!"

Next chapter will be taken place at Hawkins after the group went to the hospital. This will also be a chapter that I am excited to write for you get to know more about Luke Goode and the friendship he had with the party.
