Murder

Ziggy POV

Maya and I leave the Science and Nature cabin and run to where the screaming was coming from. We arrive were the screams came from and see campers standing around the Shadyside jail for Color War. Maya and I pushed our way through the crowd to see what the campers are staring at. Maya and I gasped at the sight of Jeremy's dead body on the floor, it was hard to recognize him with his body being mutilated.

I felt Maya grab my hand I tightened my grip on Maya hand not wanting to let go.

"Okay everyone out go to the Mess Hall! Color War is over!" Nick shouted.

I continued staring at the mutilated body of Jeremy not moving as Maya tries to break me out of the trance. She frantically shakes my shoulders finally breaking me out of my trance.

"C'mon Ziggy we need to go the Mess Hall."

Mess Hall

I sat down on the bench watching as Maya counted the kids that came running into the Mess Hall. While Nick went out and tried to find as many campers as he could to bring back into the Mess Hall. Maya stops counting when she spots Nick coming in and runs towards him, the two hug each other and let go.

The lights went out and the kids started screaming again. I get up and walked towards Maya and Nick. Maya grabs my hand comforting me.

"Calm down, everything's okay!" Nick yelled.

Gary appears, "How many?" He asks.

"Twenty-three." Maya replied.

"That's at least thirty missing!" Gary replied panicky.

"And where's Cindy, Kurt, Joan, and the rest of the counselors?" Nick asked in a low voice, not wanting to scare the rest of the kids that some of the counselors are missing.

"Asher is also missing." I tell Maya worried for Asher safety Maya squeezes my hand trying to assure me not to worry.

"I don't know I haven't seen them; I saw Tommy but that was before Color War." Gary replied as Nick walks away to use the phone once the lights came back on.

"It's dead." Nick says walking back to us, "Maybe they're looking for us?" Gary suggested.

"We have to go we have to warn them." I exclaimed, letting go of Maya's hand.

"I'm sure they heard the bell." Nick tells me but I ignore him and let go of Maya's hand and walk to the door, but I'm stopped by Maya grabbing my arm.

"My sister she's still out there!" I exclaimed Nick scoffs, "Oh the same sister that you constantly argue with." He remarked earning a disapproval look from Maya.

"What the hell, Nick." Maya angrily said earning a punch in the shoulder.

Maya faces me, "Look me, Nick, and Gary will go out looking for her." She said in a calm voice, not breaking eye contact with me. Nick looked to object but a stern glare from Maya made him keep his mouth shut.

"But she's, MY sister." I remind her Maya sighs as she let's go of my arm and rests her hands on my cheeks, "I know, and I understand how you feel if it was Luke missing I'll be frantic as well and will want to leave to search for him but I don't want you to get hurt I can't let that happen to you, Ziggy. The thought of you getting hurt is something I never want to happen to you. Just please let Nick, Gary, and I handle this while you stay here safe." Maya pleaded.

"I'll look for Cindy and bring her to you safe and sound, I promise." Maya promises and puts a strand of hair behind my ear, "I'll be back with Cindy." She says kissing my forehead she smiles assuredly at me before following Nick and Gary out of the Mess Hall.
