Chapter 12

The following days passed quite calmly. On Tuesday, before leaving home, I was been pretty worried since it was my first time going out alone with this appearance, but in the end, I almost didn't notice the difference, even hearing my low-pitched voice, people didn't pay much attention to it, or at least they didn't show it. I visited the clinic to check the shape of my lips. To my joy, everything went smoothly, and I didn't need a correction! A bit inspired by this situation, I called Max to see if he would spare a time to do my nails since I was nearby. When he saw me in a new image, he was astonished by my changes and even asked me out on a date, and even though it was a joke, but I still was happy! While Max was working on my nails, we had a nice conversation again, although not for long, since this time I came just to apply gel polish. Pleased with myself after that, I returned home.

I spent the whole next day cleaning up the house, I won't be here for a whole month, and therefore it was worth leaving the apartment in perfect condition and making sure that there was not a single female thing left here, especially since I asked my sister to come and water the indoor flowers from time to time! I spent the rest of the evening in anxiety and nervousness because I was too agitated by the events of tomorrow! In my head, I ran through hundreds, if not thousands of possibilities in my head, even though I really didn't want to!

And now the first of October has come, for a whole month I will play the role of Alex's wife, and it was terribly scary, but also exciting! I woke up when the streetlights were still on, illuminating the quiet streets with orange light.

Having already done all the usual things and rechecked all the bags that I would take with me, I found myself idle again!

Sometime later, Lera arrived, according to legend, today she has a business appointment along with Alex, and therefore she should go to the office only after lunch, if of course she goes at all! In any case, I was glad that she would help me with the move!

- So, how does the freshly-made wife feel? – Lera handed me a set of keys, which once again reminded me that my time with her had come to an end. For some reason, I was sad to realize this, and I was also afraid that even despite our sleepover, she would not want to continue communicating with me!

- She's terrified! - I replied, giggling. - Okay, this is not entirely true, but an unpleasant sucking feeling in the pit of the stomach is still present!

Without wasting time for nothing, we slowly began to take out my dowry into Lera's car, in which it seemed there might not be enough space! After almost an hour, I turned the door key, this and similar moments felt like something very significant, as if I was doing it for the last time, rather than leaving for just a month!

All the road we both practically didn't say a word, there was a strange mood, a sense of inevitable changes. Fifteen minutes later we stopped next to my new home, and Alex was already waiting for us at the entrance.

To see my newly-made hubby's face so surprised was definitely worth the effort I put myself through! And this is despite that today I was wearing only light make-up and dressed in simple tight jeans and a hoodie. Lera also noticed his reaction and did not deny herself the pleasure of teasing her boss a little.

It turned out to be noticeably easier and faster to transfer my belongings with the three of us, besides Alex was able to carry off a much more than I did, which made me a little angry! I planned to behave like a girl, but at the very beginning I couldn't contain my true feelings, although I didn't appear to show it on the outside!

Alex took the last bags, and I was left standing on the street with Lera.

- Well, the moment has come to hand you over to your husband! – The girl came up and hugged me friendly!
