I was leaning against Alec's shoulder. We were watching as Clary and Jace spoke softly to one another. I kept thinking about how he looked. His red hair. It was just like when we were little, but he wasn't like that version anymore. Edom changed him entirely. He wasn't Jonny anymore."Clary! Where's Clary!?" Simon ran in. Jace stepped back showing Clary. She had a big smile on her face. Simon ran to hug her. "Hey."
"Hey." She laughed.
"Am I dreaming?" He asked.
"No," Clary said.
Alec put his hand around my back pulling me closer to him. We still hadn't told anyone that we were engaged. I didn't know when the appropriate time was.
"I'm not."
"No," Clary shook her head. He hugged her again.
"I'm so glad you're okay," Simon said. He stepped back allowing Isabelle to come forward and hug her too.
"Where's Jonathan? I'm going to kill him with my bare hands," Isabelle looked over at me for a moment.
"You can't," Jace sighed. "None of us can."
"Why?" Simon asked.
"Lilith craved this mark into me, just before you blasted her back to hell," Clary explained. She pulled collar down to show another mark on her chest. It was a binding rune.
"The rune ties Clary's life force to Jonathans," I said. "Hurt one of them, you hurt the other in the exact same way."
"Which is why I sent an alert out to the other institutions," Alec swiped his hand over the screen. An image of Jonathan's face appeared. "Jonathan must be captured alive."
"He was looking for a sword when he was in Paris, the morning star," Clary explained. She looked at me as I tried to remember anything from my time with him. "If we can find it first, maybe we can track down Jonathan."
"Another magical sword." Simon looked around worriedly.
"He said it was some kind of family heirloom," Clary looked at me once more, but I wasn't remembering anything.
"I'll reach out to all the weapons masters to get more intel," Isabelle said.
"I'll draw more ley line junctions of the city. If Jonathan moved the apartment we will find him," Magnus reasoned. We all nodded.
"Thank you, all of you. I honestly don't know what I would do without you," Clary smiled.
"You'd be dead."
"That's what family is for, Fray," Simon gripped her hand. He looked over to me. Isabelle gave me a side look. I needed to speak with her about yesterday.
