"Hurry up Darius," Kenji called down, "With the engines cut off, we'll either gonna get swept to sea or smashed into rocks."
Darius finished applying duct tape to the hole on the boat and tugged on the rope. "Alright, pull me up!" Yaz, Sammy and I started pulling the rope until Darius was back on the boat. "We got to fix that hole or the gas will be the least of our problems," Darius explained.
"I thought not having a GPS was the least of our worries," I said, leaning against the rails. Leia squawked from the roof of the boat. She managed to find her way back to us after the Ourans scared her off. I avoided eye contact with Darius and Yaz sent me a look.
"Yeah, and, uh, not to be all doom and gloom, but..." The boat tipped back, "I'm pretty sure we're sinking," Yaz finished.
"Nah, we're just riding low in the water because of..." Kenji trailed off as we all turned to look at Bumby.
"Don't listen to him. You're perfect just the way you are," Ben whispered to her, "Isn't there some kind of non dino infested dock we can go to?"
"The closet one is on the other side of the island. We'll never make it," Brooklynn pointed out, "We're doomed and gloomed."
"Ha! Hold up!" Kenji exclaimed, "There's another dock not far from here! A private dock that's not on any map. A dock at the P-house!"
We all stared at him. "I went before we left," Ben said.
"No, not the... my dad's penthouse! It's got a private pier and everything!" Kenji exclaimed.
"I thought we couldn't get in because you failed algerbra?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"Hey, we now have an all-magical keycard that can open anythig, so, meh," Kenji answered.
"That penthouse could have everything we need," Darius said.
"Will have everything we need," Kenji corrected, "My dad loves boats. He has all sorts of nautical junk."
"To the P-house!" Darius cheered.
"To the P-house!" We all joined in.
Kenji then steered to boat towards a dock nearby. I later found out that we used the last of the gas to get here. This trip better be worth it.
Kenji led us to these scooter like things that the others to the penthouse. Ben was on Bumby and I was on Leia, flying close to the ground. I scratched at my calf. Brooklynn had put fresh bandages on it this morning, but it was still itchy like hell.
"At the penthouse, we like to travel in style," Kenji explained, eyeing Ben and I. I rolled my eyes. "It's only a short ride away. Cool, huh? Thanks to B's magical keycard, I get to show you guys my home away from home."
Everyone gasped as a weird ass looking dinosaur popped its head up from the shrubbery. "Uh, D-Darius?" Kenji asked.
Darius exhaled a sigh of relief. "It's okay. Just a Monolophosaurus. They're loners, pretty much keep to themselves," he explained.
"Then onward to paradise!" Kenji exclaimed, wheeling away, the rest of us following. I patted Leia's neck and she cooed.
We all gasped at the size of Kenji's penthouse. I landed and hopped off Leia. If this is the rich people lifestyle, let me in.
"Pretty cool, right? Wait till you see the inside," Kenji said.
"Looks pretty clear. We get in, get what we need, and get out," Darius ordered.
"Wait here girl," Ben said, sliding off Bumby's back, "No offense, but this isn't really her kind of place."
"No offense, but she's an eight-thousand pound dinosaur that will totally trash my pad, so, yeah, totes not happening," Kenji said.
