"Uh oh, Ben and Darius have their serious thinking faces on," Yaz said. "And Chris is spinning her knife."
I hung upside down from the sofa next to Darius, spinning my knife. "My brain isn't braining," I said. Darius nodded in agreement.
"I can't believe I finally got these babies clean!" Brooklynn said, showing off her shoes.
"Your shoes look exactly like they did before," Ben said, earning an offended face from Brooklynn.
"I can tell they're cleaner," Sammy said to flatter Brooklynn.
The others then took a seat; Yaz on the chair, Sammy on the arm rest, and Brooklynn in the other chair.
"So, what were you thinking about?" Yaz asked Darius.
"We might have destroyed Mr. Kon's way to make dino control chips, but he's always one step ahead of us," Darius said. "We need a way to protect the dinosaurs from whatever he's got up his sleeves."
"But, apparently, disguises are off the table," Ben said rolling his eyes.
"Can't imagine why," Yaz retorted.
"This is so nice," Sammy said. "All of us warm and cozy, sharing a cup of cocoa together. Too bad we can't do this for the dinos. It'd be a lot easier to keep 'em safe if they were all snuggled in one place."
I could see the light bulb go off in Darius's head. "Uh oh, someone's got an idea."
"I have an idea," Darius said, sitting up. "Follow me."
I sat up and grabbed my bow and arrows. I then followed Darius and the others outside to the pond that the waterfall poured into.
"What's the one place on Isla Nublar where all the dinosaurs got along?" Darius asked.
"The watering hole?" I questioned.
Darius pointed a finger at me. "Exactly, Chris! So, why not make this a watering hole." He motioned to the small pond.
"That's a great idea, Darius!" Sammy complimented.
"Is there enough water though?" Yaz questioned.
"That would be the problem," Darius answered.
Darius started looking around as the others suggested ideas. I followed him.
"What cha looking for?" I asked.
"Something that might make this pond bigger," Darius replied.
I looked around and spotted a drain. "What about that?" I pointed at the drain.
"Chris, that's it!" Darius said, wrapping his arms around me. He then turned to the others. "Guys! We need to block this drain in order to make the watering hole."
"Hello, watering hole!" Yaz cheered, punching Ben in the arm. Maybe a little too hard.
"Let's not celebrate yet," Darius said, removing his arms from me. "We still gotta make sure it actually works."
"And we have no idea when the Kons are coming back, so we have to act fast," Brooklynn added.
"Right. So, what do we need? Uh... water and dinosaurs, yeah," Darius said.
"Well, I got the second one covered," Ben said. "Firecracker's my girl, and I can grabbed Pierce too."
"I'll come," Yaz said. "We can swing by the arctic biome and get Angel and Rebel while we're at it."
"Great, and Brooklynn, Chris, Sammy, and I will plug the drain," Darius said.
"Got it," I said, giving Darius a thumbs up.
