We walked through the cave to discover it was a tunnel. We then exited the tunnel into a desert.
"Okay, so... definitely not Costa Rica," Brooklynn said.
"It looks more like... Australia?" Darius guessed.
"Oh my god I swear if we see a fucking huge ass spider," I started.
"I don't think we went that far Chris," Darius said, "We couldn't have gone that far. Right?"
Kenji waved his friend over in front of Darius's face. "Kenji what are you doing?" Darius asked.
"Making sure we're not dead. Cause if we were dead, we'd be ghost. And if we're ghosts, I'd be able to," Kenji made a ghost-like voice, "go through you," he explained, wiggling his fingers in Darius's face.
"We're not dead!" Darius snapped, pushing Kenji's hand away.
"Well, now you know. You're welcome," Kenji said.
"So, we know where we aren't. Any idea on where we are?" Brooklynn asked.
"Nope. Just that we're stranded and alone. Again," Yaz answered, sitting on a rock.
"We just gotta access the situation," Darius said.
"Hey, hey! Hey guys! Look at that!" Ben shouted as he slid down a mound of sand in front of us. "Over there! Something shiny!"
Ben pointed out into the desert. We followed his finger to see something shining in the distance.
"I see it! Looks like the sun is glinting off some sort of metal thingy," Sammy said.
"Something metal could mean someone had to make it. We gotta go check it out," Brooklynn said.
"Hang on. You wanna go walking across a blazing hot desert just because you saw something shiny?" Kenji asked in disbelief.
"We have no idea what's out there," Darius added.
"Oh my sweet, frightened children. So, we're not in 'Costa Rica,' and we don't know 'where we are,' and we have 'no hope'," Ben said with air quotes.
"Real inspirational Ben," I said.
"We didn't know how we were gonna survive on Nublar," Ben continued, ignoring my comment, "and yet, we did! By sheer will, determination, and teamwork. There aren't even dinosaurs here! So logically, this should be easier. So let's go out there and, you know, survive!"
"Why not?" Yaz sighed.
"We can at least try," Sammy said, shrugging.
She and I then followed the others as they slid down the rock. I adjusted my bow as we walked across the desert. I walked next to Darius in the front.
"First, we have to find a source of water," I informed, "Otherwise, we won't last a week out here."
"That's a good idea," Darius agreed, "How do you know so much about survival?"
"Three years of military school," I answered.
"Makes sense," Darius said.
"Cause dinosaurs weren't enough, now we're washed up in some deserted island," Yaz said, scoffing.
"Well, at least it's a nice day," Ben said, trying to stay optimistic.
"At least, there aren't any mosquitoes," Sammy said.
"Yeah. At least, we're not being tortured for eternity by vampires," Yaz added.
"Oh, I got you! At least, it's like the beach, but no ocean," Kenji spoke up.
