Sixty seconds. I need to stand on the platform for sixty seconds. The sound of nothingness is circling in the wind as the massive illuminated 3D square in the middle of the cornucopia is telling us how much time we have until we can step off of our squares. If you step off too early, you'll let will get blown off and you'll die pretty quickly. So I think that's a no-go.

We all stand equal distance from the cornucopia. A giant golden horn in the middle of the square that the twenty-four tributes surround. It's held on some rocky terrain when I realise where I am. Where I'm standing and the realisation of what I'm going to do.

I'm gonna swim to the cornucopia.

Some tributes look absolutely petrified as most of them cannot swim, for once I think I have the upper hand. Being from the water district and us being the best swimmers in the entirety of Panem. It's rocky terrain by the cornucopia. The main weapons are scattered at there so I should be able to get my hands on it.

Behind me is some rocks, that lead me onto the grass. Behind that, the hard and somewhat rocky terrain of the wilderness is following behind, but there are tons of grassy meadows aligning next to the forest. There are tons of water surrounding this arena, which is incredibly lucky for me.

There are tons of things at the cornucopia, I know that when your swimming to it, things that are closer like a backpack or some food, water supplies are nearer but at the dead centre. I see an axe and I see some throwing knives. Those things are mine, I declare.

I know I'm fast, I've always been faster than anyone else in my year or even at my school. it's hard to not be fast when your me. and I'm an even greater swimmer than I am a runner. But the seconds are misusing and I am noticing that I have ten seconds left now.

I have to swim.

I have to find Saron.

I look around and find him standing a couple circles down from me, he is looking directly at me as I want to save him more than I want to save anyone in the entire world. I am going to save Saron and I am going to make sure that, that little boy lives to see his family. even if it kills me.

It's not gonna kill me.

Five more seconds.

Then the cannon goes off.

I dive head first into the salty ocean water that is beneath me, I waste no time in sliding down into the water and feeling the cold water amongst my skin as I am swimming immediately. Saron is somewhere, but right now he is my second priority. I can swim really good and I'm still swimming faster and faster to the cornucopia.

I get up from the freezing cold water. I gasp for air when I am standing there, there is maybe one other person at the cornucopia right now. I run as fast as I can towards the axes and the throwing knives. I pick up four throwing knives and an axe.
