It was the daybreak after I'd arrived in the Capitol. I snuggled up with Finnick in the room we shared, but the unpleasant part of my mentoring stage was still to come. Yes, I was a mentor, but I was also a former victor who was dating one of the most prolific victors in Panem's history and I hadn't had an interview with Caesar Flickerman in a couple of months. Great.
That was gonna be today, whilst my tributes would be having mealtime, Finnick and I would not be joining them and as an alternative meeting up with Caesar Flickerman, I also had to talk about my preceding year as victor.
Kendra and Lighting met me in the morning, I was dressed presentably for the interview this morning, with Finnick doing the same. The two of us were at the instant IT couple of Panem, people died for our love story, and even this year, it was going to be swathed all upon Panem's walls about how in love we were.
Kendra and Lighting had prepared me with Alveria, Buble and Kander appearing on the scene of course. Snow had insisted I wear this dress to appear me to the public I was still a sex symbol for the rest of the Capitol to still find me desirable. Wasn't that just fun?
I wore this dark green, blue, and baby blue dress, it felt like there were fish scales on it. The cotton of the neck went all the way up to my jawline, there were no arms on it, with a big gap in the middle so you could see my chest and my breasts were just about covered, it dipped for my waist and hung all the way down to my toes.
I had this underwater makeup look, blue eyeshadow running all the way up my eyes, I had blue lipstick on with a hint of red, fake freckles, long eyelashes, and hints of purple. My hair was down with a seashell in it.
"There she is! There's my girl!" The upbeat voice of Elodie Barrow sings through the entire apartment complex. She kisses both of my cheeks. "Alright, remember. This thing is beneath you, and you are only glad you are with Finnick."
"How long is this going to last?" I complained, ruffling my fingers down the dress, trying to calm myself down.
"Oh, only a couple of hours, Caesar wants to talk about your games, your tributes and most importantly, your love story!" Elodie clapped her hands, and I shot her a look of aggravation, she stopped clapping because of course I was not excited to be sexualised again.
"Thank you Elodie, this is going to be fun." I sarcastically told her, at that second, I could hear the footsteps of two people. Kendra and Lighting.
"You still need to brush up. Remember; you're in love, you cannot stand to be apart." Elodie shook her head.
"Oh, Elodie they are in love. But it's annoying to be for the cameras" Kendra's voice was almost laughing. I burst into a smile when she kissed my cheeks. "Hello darling."
"Hi Kendra. Lighting." I announced myself to the two of them before I decided to ask about Rosemary, the person they were styling now. "How are you getting on with Rosemary?"
"Girl won't speak. Isn't that convenient for us? At least you didn't shut up." Lighting joked with me; I gave him a look but the two of us laughed.
"Oh, Har-har."
Elodie began to lead me out of the dressing room. She looked at me with a gentle smile. "Come on then, I think Caesar is waiting."
When I stepped out of my room, I noticed Rosemary watching me. I gave her a polite smile and she returned it to me gracefully, which made me think that maybe she was just terrified. Like the way I was, the way we all were. Because, deep down, we are all children.
"For you." Rosemary plucked something out of her pocket, there was a tulip. A purple tulip in her hand for me to take.
"What is this?" I looked at it, curiously yet happily knowing this way her way to thank me.
