Day two of the exercising, I thought I'd go examine out the new centre, I had decided to have a look at what they were doing. It was a moderately noiseless morning, breakfast was difficult as Cartus didn't speak and rather he was murmuring things to himself and unfortunate little Rosemary, who repeated so much of Hollie, she was eating her food, she sporadically gave me a stunning smile, which of course I reciprocated, before she had tucked back into her food.

Elodie had stroke up dialogue on the first day in the Capitol, but it quickly shut down by Cartus. I don't need you to talk to me, you think I'm district scum and I think the same of you. Elodie was soundless towards him after that, he didn't need to be impolite to us, we were the only people who wanted to help him.

Finnick and I were going to check out the training centre, Maggs had decided to stay behind out of the kind-heartedness that she wanted to spend this time alone and catch up on stitching up one of her favourite dresses and reading, she had this thing about her, she was so peaceful and such a beautiful woman, I hoped I'd be half the woman she was when I was older.

I walked into the training centre when someone ran over to the two of us, Finnick and I were holding hands. That was genuine. "What are you two doing here?"

It was just Cartus. He had his eyes tightened and his frown was strengthening on his face. "Oh, I'm so sorry Cartus, I didn't realise that you owned the training centre."

"You're not allowed down here." Cartus grimaced, but the sound of footsteps by one of the peacekeepers shut him up.

"Cartus." A voice from one of the peacekeepers came distinctly visible, Cartus looked up at them. "Move away from the mentors, they are allowed down here."

"Whatever, when I win these games, I'm gonna make you two bitches look like fools." Cartus sneered at the both of us, the peacekeeper walked away with him, he was scowling at all three people he had just had an interaction with.

Finnick rested his head closer to my ear. "So, how's your first-year mentoring, like our tributes?" He mouthed, chuckling.

"Shut up, Finnick." I shoved him away and he expressed his profound amusement, I raised an eyebrow at him when he placed his arm around me. "Why are you down here, anyway?"

"Eh you were coming down; thought I'd keep you company." Finnick smirked, of course he thought he was the most remarkable human on the face of Panem. "Besides, I might be the only interesting thing down here. I mean take one good look at these tributes, any of them seem appealing to you."

"Wow, you really are the vainest man I've ever met" I flattered him, Finnick positioned a hand on his heart.

"With honour." Finnick, very bigheadedly spoke, making the both of us chuckle.

"I'm gonna go have a look at some of these tributes." I told him, giving him a brief kiss on the lips before I was gonna look around.

The careers this year looked more menacing than before, of course Cartus had adored them. He, beside with a few others, were training with the axes and for Cartus, he was training with a spear. I just shrugged it off and noticed that the four other careers, the four from one and two were with him. He must have found his way into the career pack effortlessly.

Rosemary, on the other hand, had made friends with some girls from the lower districts. Such as eight and twelve, all three of them were around thirteen and teaching one another things they had learned from their own districts. I knew none of them would make it of course.

That's when I saw her.

Jo.

She was by the knot making station, her short brunette hair was cut into a pixie cut and she was fiddling around with something, obviously struggling with it, a couple of the careers were pointing and laughing at her before shoving another one of the careers.
