Two Can Play At That Game

"Ugh Scott it's not what it looks like!" Mitch exclaimed while trying to cover himself with the blankets. He might as well try to keep the one shred of dignity he had left.

Scott smiled mischievously.

"Well, to me, it looks like Samantha got some last night! Why didn't you tell me y'all were-"

"Cause we're not okay!! Just please leave. I have to get up and find my underwear..."

At that comment, Scott wolf-whistled and then began laughing. Yeah, maybe Mitch should have rephrased that.

"OUT!"

Scott put his hands up in a gesture of mercy and closed the door while giggling.

"Oh thank god he's gone" Mitch mumbled under his breath. He sighed with relief.

"...Mitch?"

Oh yeah. Mitch froze.

"Yes?" He asked while grimacing, looking over at a wide-eyed Avi.

"Um... Why are you in my bed. And why are we.. um.. Naked?" Avi questioned with his deep voice rough from sleep. Mitch decided to ignore the flash of heat that went through him because now was so not the time.

"I was kind of hoping you could tell me.." Mitch trailed off as he tried to calm the blush that rose to his cheeks. Ugh, could this get any more embarrassing?

Avi sat up, running a hand over his face while letting out a deep sigh. He seemed to collect himself while Mitch sat waiting for him to freak out. But that moment never came.

"Ok."

Wait, what?

"Ok?!" Mitch exclaimed back. Why was he so calm about this?

"Yeah, ok. You want to go get breakfast now? I'm starved!" Avi pulled away the covers and hopped out of bed.

Mitch quickly averted his eyes as the man went to grab his clothes from where they were strewn across the floor. Avi got dressed and left a very confused Mitch behind him.

What the hell was that?

Mitch began to pick up his scattered clothes, mind whirling. One he finished getting dressed he picked his phone up off the night stand and shot off a quick text to Scott.

Sent: Pls don't say anything to the others about this morning.

Received: No problem, but just know you have to give me all of the details. Now get your ass down here, your food is getting cold!

Mitch smiled at his phone, remembering why Scott was his best friend in the first place

Sent: Thx babe, I'll be right down.

Mitch put his phone away and went to go look for his Cartier bracelett.

After about ten minutes of searching he finally found it, thank god. Then went to join the rest of the group for breakfast.

Mitch braced himself as he sat at the table, unsure of what to expect. Everyone was carrying about as usual. Scott and Kirstie were typing away on their phones. Avi and Kevin were goofing around while eating. So Mitch decided to occupy himself with his gluten free pancakes and strawberries.

A few minutes later, Esther plopped down on the seat next to him, giving Mitch a brief heart attack.

"Hey Mitch! Sleep well?" She asked while pulling out her laptop.

"Um, yeah I guess you could say that." Mitch's eyes darted back over to Avi's side of the table, catching the bass already looking his way. Avi cleared his throat and averted his gaze. Then he went to eating and talking about the latest Game of Thrones with Kirstie.

"Good to hear!" Esther replied while pulling up something on her laptop, "Ok so our next stop is San Diego. What was the name of that place we stayed at last time? Because I was thinking we could switch our reservations to this place-".

As she was planning out their next stop, Mitch's mind trailed off. He just couldn't stop thinking about the night before. Sure, Mitch was always attracted to Avi, who wouldn't be? But he never thought he'd actually act on his desire. That's, like, the number one rule of being in a band, 'Don't Sleep With The Other Members'. How dare his inebriated mind let him break the golden rule.

Also, why the fuck was Avi pretending that they didn't have drunken gay sex last night? As Mitch last recalls, Avi was a straight man. How dare he be so cool with this. Why does he get to be so lax about this while Mitch is having a mental breakdown!

Well, if he wants to pretend nothing happened then fine, whatever, two can play at that game.

"Um, hello? Mitchie, you still with us?" Kirstie asked while leaning over and waving her hand in front of his face.

Mitch abruptly moved his glance away from the wall he had, apparently, been staring at.

"Hmm?" He replied, pretending he wasn't just completely in his head.

"Well, we were discussing maybe trying out this new audience participation piece that Kevin and Scott have been working on."

Mitch joined the conversation and tried to put last night behind him.
