"Is she... shedding?"

Ichor watched as a white shell formed around Crimson's body as if it were a new layer of defense against the outside world.

Unlike what he had thought though, the white shell continued to expand around Crimson, eventually covering her completely.

"Wait, no, this isn't shedding. It looked like she was creating a... cocoon?"

If it was as he thought, he would be certainly surprised about it.

"Never thought that I would see a day where a mosquito will shed its... shell? Maybe molt?"

Ichor doesn't know if a mosquito has a shell, carapace, or skin. What he did know is that they can certainly molt themselves when they are at the larvae stage, not adults.

Also, he's pretty sure that his blood in the bowl is flowing into Crimson's cocoon as if they are acting as the resource needed for this evolution to work properly.

"Hmm... The blood is flowing steadily. I guess it wouldn't be emptied for the next 10 minutes or so."

"Crimson, you good there?"

Ichor didn't speak out the last sentence. But rather, he chose to send it through his soul link.

Ichor doesn't know if Crimson can hear him or not, but at least he can certainly communicate with her this way.

Ichor quickly gets his answer. While there are a lot of words that were carried in it, it can be summed up in a single sentence.

'I'm fine!'

"Right, I'll look after you if you don't mind."

Ichor quickly gets some snack and start reading the Guides next to Crimson's bowl, glancing at her every now and then.

It was quiet in the apartment, with the curtains still closed and the temperature still warm despite the cold weather outside.

This went on for a while.

"Tch, you're quite a glutton, aren't you?"

By this point, the blood inside the bowl is already empty. Ichor had to bring her onto his palm and give more of his blood to make sure that Crimson had enough to continue her evolution.

Crimson is quite gluttonous though, as she's taking so much of his blood that he had to use <Heal> on himself to accelerate his blood production.

It's tedious doing such a thing though, but the result is that the cocoon is now growing steadily.

This continued for a while until the cocoon doubled in size. And soon, something happens to it.

Crack!

"It's cracking?"

Right now, there is a tiny crack in the cocoon. It's not big in any way, but it meant that the evolution is now finishing.

Soon, the crack expanded in size, until it had completely covered the entire cocoon.

Crack!

With small chunks of the cocoon falling off, Crimson frees herself from it, showing her new form.

Crimson is now 5 cm long, with a silvery-colored body and red lines running on her back like blood vessels. Her wings have also grown in size, but proportionally-wise, it's still the same ratio as before.

She also seemed to lose her pair of middle legs, leaving her with only two pairs of bigger insect legs to walk around.

Also, she seemed to be easier to look at somehow, which will help a lot since she is way bigger than most people are comfortable with.
