The Elemental Magnetic Star is bordered on three sides by the primordial forests known as the Verdant Thistle Forest, isolated by the Elemental Magnetic Abyss, with only the south side opening to a blue expanse of water, endless and unreachable by human footprints, known as the "Endless Sea."
Granny Rain's cultivated mud pond is located on a shallow beach canyon along the edge of the Endless Sea, secluded but entirely safe, thanks to the good public order maintained within the Elemental Magnetic Star's domain. Under the surveillance of the "Elemental Magnetic Network," everything is in perfect order.
The cold wind season of the Elemental Magnetic Star is approaching, and during the remaining days of the warm sun season, most residents of the Surface Domain head into the city to revel. Only those like Granny Rain, who neither wish to partake in the festivities nor hurry their work, continue to toil in the fields.
The mud pond produces lotus roots, a fundamental element in the food supply not only of the Surface Domain but of the entire Elemental Magnetic Star. To ensure the production of lotus roots, every citizen of the Surface Domain is allotted a certain unit of mud pond for cultivation upon reaching adulthood. This serves not only to sustain livelihoods but also to practice elemental magnetic power. It is a common method for ordinary people to learn to control the water element, the mastery of which is a prerequisite for controlling and using the other elements: earth, wood, fire, and metal.

Though Granny Rain has never seen them, all the tools of reproduction in the Surface Domain, including the tools she uses daily, the building materials for her dwelling, the transportation to other parts of the Surface Domain, and the aircraft to the higher domains, are products of the Sky Domain Alliance. Meanwhile, the Elemental Magnetic Network that covers the Surface Domain, the omnipresent and omnipotent elemental magnetic currency, and the widespread administrative and commercial networks are masterpieces of the Celestial Domain.
According to the well-known history of human civilization on the Elemental Magnetic Star, two thousand years ago, a human spaceship lost in the stars accidentally entered the Elemental Magnetic Star, only to find its magnetic force field extremely violent and unsuitable for human life. Fortunately, the captain later discovered a relatively mild land, now the site of the Elemental Magnetic Star Domain, which, after human efforts in moving mountains and seas, formed the current three-layer spatial structure of the Celestial Domain, Sky Domain, and Surface Domain, corresponding to the five different elemental magnetic forces of the Elemental Magnetic Star—metal, wood, fire, earth, and water.
