However, Flame Wave's wish to spend some alone time with another was destined to be unfulfilled, as unexpected visitors arrived in the Azure and White Forest.
"Ah, Lord Silver Wolf!"
Flame Wave turned around to see a very young woman accompanied by two guards from Scholar's Pavilion approaching. "You are?"
"Lord Silver Wolf actually doesn't recognize me?" The woman feigned hurt, holding her heart, but her beautiful eyes were filled with a bright smile. "I have lived in Lord Silver Wolf's house since I was very young, one could say I grew up under your protection."
"Oh," he realized, despite the difficulty in connecting the woman before him with the little girl from over a decade ago, "You're Jadelle. My apologies. To speak of protection, I truly am ashamed."
To say Silver Wolf took care of her was an overstatement, especially since he couldn't even recognize her face to face. But Jadelle, graceful yet sincere, slightly bowed and said, "Please, my lord, don't say such things. Without you, I wouldn't know where I might have ended up. I will never forget your kindness in my lifetime."
Then, her smiling eyes curiously and warmly surveyed Raina Grace, "This lady, she must be the one who rode the Azure Phoenix? No wonder, truly an aura of vivacity surrounds her." She exclaimed in admiration.
Raina Grace also looked at her curiously, her bright and generous appearance and attire like a beam of light in the Azure and White Forest, illuminating the misty air.
Seeing that Raina Grace showed none of the astonishment or inferiority other women felt upon meeting her, nor awkwardness due to her connection with Silver Wolf, Jadelle was even more surprised: whether this woman was truly like an uncarved gem or just pretending to be, she was very extraordinary.
Jadelle dropped her dismissive demeanor, formally introducing herself to Raina Grace, "Nice to meet you, I'm Jadelle, currently an apprentice at Scholar's Pavilion."
Raina Grace returned the courtesy, "I'm Raina Grace, currently my status is..." She hesitated, looking at Flame Wave.
"A wanderer, same as me," Flame Wave interjected, hands crossed over his chest, boldly claiming, "Additionally researching the origins of life on the Elemental Magnetic Star."
"The renowned wizard of the Silver Department is also a wanderer?" Jadelle was surprised, then smirked slightly, "My lord, you jest. I fear the Pavilion Master will soon assign you a very important task."
Flame Wave just smiled without a word, and Raina Grace remained silent as if lost in thought. Jadelle found the silence somewhat boring, feeling as if she was the odd one out. Accustomed to being adored, she felt a slight annoyance, quickly excused herself, and left.
"Why so quiet?" Flame Wave noticed Raina Grace's silence after Jadelle left, "Don't let irrelevant people disturb your mood."
Having been born without a status, Raina Grace seemed to always ponder too much over her identity. Because of her status, she preferred venturing into Verdant Thistle Forest over accompanying him to the Sky Domain; it was also because of her status that she moved from Illusory Splendor to the Wood Alliance, striving for recognition. Flame Wave feared she would start obsessing over her identity again, especially now. If she thought she had to live in his house without name or status, it would indeed be troublesome for him.
"Did you see that?" Raina Grace hadn't noticed Flame Wave's anxiety; her attention was entirely captivated by the extraordinary sight before her, unaware even of Jadelle's departure.
"See what?" Flame Wave, puzzled, looked towards where Raina Grace was staring, but all he saw was the pale jade fog and nothing else.
"That tree! A tree carved from pale jade..." Raina Grace murmured as if in a dream.
