Raina Grace wakes up in a vast pool, stretching comfortably in the water as naturally as breathing.
"Water truly revives your spirits," a voice whispers near her ear, followed by two hands gently massaging her waist and pulling her close, skin to skin, making Raina realize they are both undressed and causing her to instinctively embrace herself.
"Relax, my dear. You were in a good state just now, unbound and naturally relaxed. I envy the water that can keep you so at ease, rather than tense," the voice comforts her.
"Am I tense?" she inquires.
"Yes, so tense you passed out."
"Nonsense, it was your excessiveness that overwhelmed me," Raina retorts.
Flame Wave's teasing response incites a playful scolding from Raina, "Flame Wave..."
His laughter, deep and slightly hoarse, fills the air with indulgence, "Don't worry, I'm not that clueless."
Yet, he continues to nuzzle her hair and breathe warmly on her, making the temperature rise again...
Overwhelmed by the heat, Raina tries to change the subject, "Where is this? Such a large pool."
Flame Wave managed to gather a shred of rationality to answer her, "Of course, it's Celestial Balance Fortress. It's here that we started... Have you forgotten?"
When mentioning the word "started," he intentionally brushed against her, causing Raina Grace to let out a scream, while Flame Wave chuckled lowly against her chest.
"I mean this pool. Does Celestial Balance Fortress have such a large pool?" Raina Grace recalled something, and she forcefully lifted Flame Wave's head, "Is it something you need?"
Flame Wave, who was enjoying the dessert, was interrupted forcefully and spoke discontentedly, "As the most luxuriously equipped Celestial Balance Fortress in the Sky Domain, what's wrong with having a large pool for bathing? It wasn't built specifically for me; it has been here since the fortress was initially constructed."
Raina Grace still fixed her gaze on Flame Wave's eyes, determined to continue the topic they had on Pine Mist Mountain, not wanting to be led astray again. "Your eyes, they seem to lack the element of water..."
"What do you know?" Flame Wave's voice suddenly turned cold, and his body stiffened.
Raina Grace was pricked by his suddenly alert state, not understanding how he went from warm and tender to distant in an instant. Feeling stifled, she suddenly lost the desire to talk. "I know nothing." Saying this, she moved towards the shore, intending to put on her clothes.
"My left eye, it used to be the same color as your eyes, continuously providing me with the nourishment of water elements. I did not cherish it at the time, and then all of it ceased to exist." Flame Wave spoke softly, "I'm sorry, this has been forgotten by everyone, including me. Being suddenly mentioned by you made me sensitive."
Raina Grace stopped and quietly listened to him finish, thinking about her own blue eyes, which had always been discriminated against. She was indeed troubled but never blamed her eyes and always cherished them.
"Is it a human's most tragic flaw to only cherish after losing something?" She spoke faintly, then continued towards the shore.
Behind her, there was a huge splash of water as Flame Wave approached. Raina Grace, with her advantage in the water, couldn't escape from him, but she didn't want to turn it into an ugly chase, so when Flame Wave caught her, she did not struggle.
"Hey, don't be mad." Flame Wave said in a low voice, "I haven't properly interacted with someone in many years. Does this hedgehog-like demeanor really annoy you? I didn't care in the past, but now, I care about your feelings, and I will retract these unnecessary spikes. Raina Grace, forgive me this time?"
