What does it feel like to be not in control of oneself? Flicker Shadow had a deep understanding of this. Roaming aimlessly in the abyss, he was on the verge of becoming another abyssal beast. He forgot where he came from and had no idea where he was going.

He knew he was devolving into a wild beast, and he also knew he was becoming stronger. But what did that matter? He didn't care at all. The only things driving him were the instinct to survive and a belief in moving forward.

Then one day, as he wandered aimlessly without direction, his mind suddenly cleared for a moment, and the structure of the abyss became clear, as if something was guiding him forward. For the first time in the endless darkness, there was a clear direction. Regardless of the destination, like a fish hooked by bait, Flicker Shadow couldn't give up, even if it was just a moment of hope. At least there was hope.

Indeed, that moment of clarity was fleeting, like a flash of lightning that disappeared into darkness again. But strangely, that lightning seemed to imprint itself in his heart. Even after passing through one desolate area after another, he could always move towards the direction of that fleeting moment. After traversing countless ravines and surviving threats of death, he finally reached his destination.

It was a massive space, surrounded by mysterious images floating around, enveloped in countless beams, lines, and projections. Unlike the desolation and decay of other parts of the abyss, this place was filled with vitality and wonders. The projections revealed the unknown side of the abyss, not just the obscure, endless darkness and spreading elemental magnetic fields but also strange creatures and plants, like countless living worlds, windows peeking into the abyss, each scene a mystery.

In the center of the space, points of light intertwined into a giant virtual screen, flashing various data, images, and symbols. It seemed to be controlling something, or perhaps monitoring. Flicker Shadow didn't understand, but his intuition or beastly instinct made him reluctant to leave easily. There was definitely something here, a key or a secret, hope or despair.

Among the lights and shadows, he seemed to see a familiar figure. Who...? He dully asked in his mind.

"It's Raina Grace!" WeeStick shouted, no longer fearing Flicker Shadow's "menace," rushing forward to embrace the shadow... only to grasp at air...

WeeStick was not willing to give up, shuttling back and forth several times, but to no avail. It was puzzled. What was going on?

Since seeing that shadow, Flicker Shadow gradually felt something inside him, the numbness receding, wrapped slowly by something that could be called warmth, followed by memories.

"Raina Grace?" Flicker Shadow murmured. The familiar name echoed far and near, in every part of the space. His thoughts became clearer, like a lost wild beast gradually finding the direction of its once home. Raina Grace, Raina Grace...

Eh, who was that? Another figure appeared in the image. What was he doing? Why was he holding Raina Grace? He even kissed her!

Flicker Shadow became confused. Was that him? The him who was once so close to a woman, longing for the adventures in the jungle, frolicking in the hot springs, the warmth of an embrace, the sweetness of a kiss...

No, that wasn't him. He was here, not there!

But where was here? And where was there?

What had he lost, Flicker Shadow, or Raina Grace? A sharp pain surged from the bottom of his heart, and the dark energy accumulating in his body could no longer be suppressed. Flicker Shadow became furious, and the surrounding space seemed to tremble with his anger. Projections, beams, lines, everything shattered under his rage.
