The mystery and power of the Gold and Silver Seas equally left Raina Grace in awe during her first encounter. Hovering above them from a distance, the unpredictable wind and light already made her feel it was difficult to approach. Therefore, it was impossible for them to traverse the elemental magnetic storm of the Gold and Silver Seas; instead, they had made a detour specifically.
"Even though it's the same elemental magnetic storm, the storm over the Gold and Silver Seas is much more powerful than that of the Elemental Magnetic Abyss," Raina Grace said to WeeStick, "Do you think you could fly here?"
WeeStick, who had nearly lost his life under the storm of the Elemental Magnetic Abyss, still felt a lingering fear: "No. The Azure Phoenix couldn't either, right?"
"It seems like this entire sea is covered by something. I wonder what conditions are required to enter?" The Azure Phoenix also felt the pressure. Raina Grace had heard from the bamboo slips that only the Gold and Silver Seas could purify the power of the abyss, but it seems it wasn't that simple.
After circling twice, Flame Wave called out loudly to Raina Grace, "How about it, have you seen enough? Shall we head back?"
"Okay." Being new here, Raina Grace just wanted a quick look and hadn't expected to accomplish her task today.
Moreover, even though one of her main purposes for coming to the Celestial Domain was for the Azure Phoenix, she also had her own reasons—she wanted to know how big this world is. From the Water Realm to Verdant Thistle Forest and then to the Sky Domain, her knowledge had been constantly expanding, as well as her courage. The more she saw, the further she wanted to see, and the more she wanted to explore the boundaries of her own growth.
Their destination was Flame Wave's residence in the Celestial Domain. "After I resigned from the Silver Department of Scholar's Pavilion, I kept this place, but all the attendants were dismissed. It might not be as convenient as Celestial Balance Fortress."
In fact, Flame Wave had also brought a few trusted guards from Celestial Balance Fortress this time. Although these men were not very meticulous in their work, they could fully manage to keep a large house running.
"Oh, simpler is better. I'm fine with just fruits." In Raina Grace's eyes, Flame Wave was someone with exquisite tastes, truly as the ancients said, "not wearying of fine food nor tiring of fine details." Although she benefited from this, she had no worries about transitioning from luxury to simplicity. Luxury or simplicity in her mind was just a matter of trouble or convenience, each with its own benefits.
"Is that all you know, eating?" Flame Wave laughed. The easily contented Raina Grace often left him feeling a lack of accomplishment.
Raina Grace thought about it seriously, realizing that eating was indeed her one indispensable daily need. "One needs to eat to live," she answered matter-of-factly.
"Eating is the least of our worries," Flamer Horizon joined in at the doorway, "Many people have said they want to welcome Lord Silver Wolf with a banquet, although we've declined directly as per the lord's instructions, but that hasn't stopped them from sending over a lot of things, even threatening to throw them away if we don't accept."
"Whatever is sent, just keep it. Later, you guys see what's useful and discard what's not," Flame Wave said indifferently. Anyway, the residence was lacking in everything for now, and there wasn't time to shop. Moreover, with Raina Grace's character, she'd use what was available and manage without what wasn't. Thus, having was better than lacking.
However, Flame Wave hadn't even stepped through the gate when he was stopped by a servant from Scholar's Pavilion waiting outside, requesting his immediate presence at Scholar's Pavilion.
"Immediately? Scholar's Pavilion isn't so inconsiderate," Flame Wave refused directly, "Tell the pavilion master, I'll see him after I've settled in."
It seemed Aurum Aspire had anticipated his response, so the servant didn't insist, merely conveyed the pavilion master's hope to see him and the owner of the Azure Phoenix as soon as possible, then left.
"I'm not any owner of the Azure Phoenix." Raina Grace knew they meant her and asked Flame Wave, "Do I have to see that pavilion master too?"
This was precisely what Flame Wave was hesitating about. He knew Aurum Aspire would surely summon Raina Grace to Scholar's Pavilion, supposedly to inquire about the Azure Phoenix, but probably with ulterior motives. Curiosity about her, doubts about her identity, or maybe to assess her? Likely all of the above.
Flame Wave certainly couldn't prevent Aurum Aspire from seeing Raina Grace, something he had anticipated before bringing her to the Celestial Domain. Yet, he still wanted to prepare her, to have everything ready before letting her face situations she was neither suited for nor good at. "I'll go see him first. After you're familiar, I'll take you."
"Oh," Raina Grace let Flame Wave arrange.
"The White Falcon will take the Azure Phoenix to the Azure and White Forest, just behind these mountains. Don't worry, all the birds in the Celestial Domain live there, and the Azure Phoenix will be the king," knowing what Raina Grace cared about most, Flame Wave immediately informed her of the Azure Phoenix's whereabouts.
"The Azure Phoenix might be like me, not good at dealing with its kind," catching the teasing in Flame Wave's words, Raina Grace joked.
"Maybe it's just that those ordinary birds aren't its kind," Flame Wave said lightly, "What's there to talk about with a species you can't communicate with?"
Raina Grace didn't know if Flame Wave was just talking about the Azure Phoenix or including her too. But she wasn't as lofty; she was genuinely awkward, sometimes even struggling to defend herself, and couldn't always articulate her thoughts clearly. Why can some people's logic be so strange? Are the things everyone sees really that different?
Maybe, just like she could see elemental magnetic power.
Although sometimes she doubted, was she really seeing it? When others couldn't see it, was what she saw real? She also hesitated to confirm. So she always kept silent records and validations in her heart, only willing to speak out boldly when she had more evidence. That's why she often envied Flame Wave's fearlessness.
What she didn't know was that in Flame Wave's eyes, someone with a mind as pure as hers, not dwelling on everything, was even more enviable.
Yet, when the object of such non-dwelling was him, it made Flame Wave incredibly frustrated. The only method he could think of was to make her one of his own, part of his kind, under his wing.
However, this selfish desire to have her vision and words filled only with him obviously didn't work on Raina Grace. Flame Wave even missed the carefree self he used to be. Who would want to walk through this forest of intersecting lights and shadows, still filled with unease and hesitation?
But in the rustling whispers of each leaf, in the murmuring of each bird, they all spoke to him of the woman whose heart resonated with his, her smile like morning dew, her sorrow like evening mist, yet the subtle fluctuations of her heart were like a deep, unfathomable lake.
Flame Wave feared, their interactions were likecountless stars in the night sky, their light brilliant and eye-catching, yetunable to touch each other. Like a meteor streaking through the night, hedreamt of pursuing brilliance, only to suddenly encounter a storm between thestars, where the fierce storm ruthlessly destroyed his dream of being togetherwith her...
