Hello again, I'm here with the next chapter! Basically some stuff about Lloyd and his family situation.
Enjoy!
—————————————[Author End, for now at least]———————————————I finally got out of school, relieved to be free from the monotony of classes and exams. But my moment of liberation was short-lived as a passing truck carelessly splashed muddy water all over me. "Ugh!" I groaned, feeling the dampness seep through my clothes. It seemed like the rain had become a constant companion lately, much to my dismay. I despised rain as it always reminded me of that fateful day.
"No, now's not the time to dwell on the past," I told myself, shaking off the memories. I still had to walk home, rain or not. With determination, I continued down the familiar streets, my soggy shoes squelching with each step.
As I trudged along, trying to ignore the drizzle falling steadily from the sky, I suddenly heard a voice. "Jimmy, look! There's the motherless kid!" My heart sank at the familiar taunt. It seemed that I couldn't escape the harsh judgments of my peers.
Not wanting to give them the satisfaction of a response, I kept my head down and carried on. Their laughter echoed behind me, a cruel reminder of the insensitivity that some people possessed. How could someone find joy in mocking another person's loss?
Fighting back the hurt and anger bubbling inside me, I pushed forward, my determination unyielding. The rain had soaked through my clothes, chilling me to the bone, but I refused to let it dampen my spirit.
As I walked, lost in my own thoughts, a hand suddenly grabbed my shoulder, jolting me out of my reverie. Instinctively, I jerked away, my heart pounding with apprehension. I couldn't bring myself to turn around, fearing the worst.
"Hey, milksob, it's rude to ignore people who talk to you," stated a voice, dripping with arrogance. I recognized the voice as belonging to one of the taller boys who had taunted me earlier. His companion snickered from behind him.
Taking a deep breath, I mustered the courage to face them. I turned slowly, meeting their gazes with a steadfast determination. "I'm not a milksob, and I have every right to ignore those who mock and belittle others," I retorted, my voice filled with a newfound confidence.
Their smirks faded slightly as they registered my words. They seemed taken aback by my boldness. It was a small victory, but it felt empowering nonetheless.
Without waiting for a response, I continued on my way, stepping away from their presence and leaving them behind in my wake. Their laughter now seemed distant, no longer capable of piercing my resilience.
As I walked further, I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in standing up for myself. The rain continued to fall, but it no longer seemed to bother me. I had weathered the storm both outside and within, emerging stronger on the other side.
Little did I know that these small acts of defiance would shape my character, preparing me for greater challenges that lay ahead. The rain had tested me, but it had also reminded me of my strength and resilience. And with each step, I walked with my head held high, ready to face whatever came my way.
[Small time skip to where he got home, cuz I'm lazy]
Once he arrived home, an overwhelming sense of unease washed over him. As he approached the front door, he noticed a strange difference in the voices coming from inside. It wasn't the familiar sound of his dad or his mo- dad's girlfriend. Intrigued and curious, he cautiously moved closer to the door, pressing his ear against it to catch any discernible words. The voices appeared muffled, but amidst the indistinct chatter, he could sense an underlying tension, as if there was a heated argument taking place.
Suddenly, without warning, the door swung open with force, causing him to stumble and fall to the ground. As he struggled to regain his composure, his gaze met the intense stares of two unfamiliar men towering above him. Panic began to well up inside him as he tried to comprehend the situation. Before he could react, one of the men swiftly drew a gun, pointing it directly at his face. A wave of fear washed over him, freezing him in place as his eyes fixated on the menacing weapon.
"W-what?" he managed to choke out, his voice quivering with both confusion and fear. In that moment of utter vulnerability, his attention was briefly diverted by the sight of the second man disappearing around a corner. His instinctive curiosity overcame his fear for an instant, causing him to slightly turn his head in the direction the man had gone. What he saw next sent a jolt of shock through his entire body, causing his eyes to widen in disbelief.
/Lloyd's POV:/
I observed my father, sitting helplessly on the ground, his body tightly bound, and his eyes reflecting a mixture of fear and confusion. The sight of him in such a vulnerable state struck me with a deep sense of anguish and concern. As our eyes met, his widened in pure horror, mirroring the terror that had consumed him in this dire situation.
In an instant, my attacker seized hold of my shoulders with an iron grip, sending shivers down my spine. The touch of his cold hands only intensified the fear coursing through my veins. With the barrel of the gun pressing against my forehead, I felt a suffocating weight of dread, rendering me incapable of uttering a single cry for help. The overwhelming terror of the unknown paralyzed me, leaving me trembling with anticipation and uncertainty about what might unfold next.
