Once again, I'm rethinking my life choices. What I originally planned to happen, was finding my sister and then going back home with no problems whatsoever. However, that isn't what happened. An unexpected turn of events was taking place.
"DoHee it doesn't matter. Just go home." The man yawned and stood up on his feet. Just as he was about to turn the other way, his hand was grabbed by DoHee and then immediately pulled back onto the bench."And I told you you're not leaving." She shot him a serious expression that even sent shivers down my spine and I wasn't the one receiving it.
"I don't have time for this." He groaned.
"If you're worried about work then this is related so stop complaining." Dohee hit his shoulder and then crossed her arms.
I sighed heavily under my breath and turned around facing both of them. But somehow it was work-related.
"But Ms. Jeo-." She said, but shortly afterwards I cut her off. Which wasn't polite of me to do at all.
"Just call me Y/N. No need for the formalities outside of work." I spoke with the coldest and most annoyed voice. All I wanted to do right now was go home and go to bed but life had it out differently for me.
After all of this, my sister is still nowhere to be seen. Will I ever find her at this point?"I don't have the time-," I spoke but this time it had been me getting cut off.
"This won't take too long, I promise." DoHee smiled at me and something about it felt off. Everything felt off. The best idea right now would be getting out of here. Understandably, she is the assistant manager and she's probably just trying to make friends with me. I'd prefer to only know the people I see at work.
Out-of-work relationships wouldn't work with me. I can't be trusted in a friendship. With what happened in the last one, the best option would be to refrain from making friends with anyone else.
Flashback
It was a warm and heated day outside. Everyone was out with their friends and having the time of their lives. Making the most of their lives. But one person remained alone with the thoughts of hopelessness and loneliness. Nothing could take away the lonely feeling from her anymore: It had been too long.Somehow, someone was able to help it. The person who meant the absolute world to her that she wouldn't dare trade for anything else. Park Dahyeon. Her best friend.
Her comfort zone.Previously, the supposed warm air was cold and deceiving. As soon as Dahyeon's bright and bubbly presence entered her gaze, everything became peaceful and worry-free. How can a person make her feel so safe and happy? She had never felt this before.
Dahyeon helped her at her lowest.
"You're here?" Dahyeon smiled and looked won at her who stared down at the floor.
The thoughts were getting too much for her to hate, it would be too much of a burden to express her honest emotions to someone else. However, with her, it felt comforting."Mhm." Was the only sound she managed to muffle out under her breath.
"Is there something wrong?" Dahyeon gazed down at her with a confused expression and sat down on the chair beside her. She wasn't taking her eyes off of her and her mind was filled with worry and concern. Seeing someone you care for look so depressed makes you feel mutual.
