She knew it had not been the best decision she had taken so far...
That she should have known better than to allow her passions take hold of her if only ever so briefly, especially in-front of Reaper.
To think she would have lost her composure so easily should have been something to be ashamed of. In a way, it was if she stopped to think about it...
And yet when Rose had made that question her thoughts seemed to only lead her back to that moment her breath had hitched and her heart grown so heavy.
When she had first felt it.
The cold...
The piercing, searing ache of a blade made of ice lancing through her and taking her breath away by the sheer suddenness of the blow that had been delivered into her soul. Something that had felt so vividly, so strongly....that she was sure she was not imagining it.
She fought back the desire to bite her lips, yet that did not put at ease her inner turmoil. How could something so brief could outlast an eternity?
It could not have been more than a few seconds, but they seemed to elongate in time to impossible lengths that she could not have believed had she not witnessed them with her own living eyes. The thread, one that was pushed further and further from opposite directions before it threatened to be torn apart.
All while being just the machinations of her mind.
A phantom in the halls..
A bad dream...
A mirage...
And yet she found no comfort and enjoyment in knowing the truth about it. Even less when she came to realize that these feelings coursing through her...were not her own.
But his...
This time she could not help but bit her lips. Not enough for her fangs to pierce through the tender, soft flesh, but enough to make her feel the pressure building up. Her eyes closing to a half lid, hardening.
It was too soon to say that she liked Rose..., she had barely known her for more than a day and half. It was just too soon to get a good grasp of who Rose Orianna was, not like the blond human girl was trying to hide it.
It just wasn't logical to down right believe in her without testing her. Testing her herself...even if that was a selfish desire given the kindness Reaper had shown so far to her fellow companion.
That did not mean she did not care for her.
She sighed. She was just a child who had been given a bad hand in life which would have led her down a terrible and rather short path.
Kidnapped by bandits, abandoned and wounded, possibly left to die had they not found her
Just like her....
She closed her eyes for a brief moment.
She respected Rose.., she truly did, as much as one could do after meeting someone for such brief spam of time and having such different backgrounds. But to cause such a reaction from her master..., even if he was magnanimous enough to not point it out to the offending girl and even pardon her on the spot...
She was not as kind as he was.
She opened her eyes, her features softening even though nothing of the sort was happening inside her.
