Breath in

Breath in
Breath out

I did my breathing exercises to calm my pre performance gitters. I could already hear the large wave of people as they were pre hyped from my intro. I was in the process of getting my ear pieces put in when Mama and Y/n walked towards me.

God, she just looked so fine. I forgot how fine she actually was but today quickly reminded me.

"You ready Bey?" Mama asked me as she fixed my shorts. I nodded, "yeah, a little nervous but nonetheless ready" I told her. She nodded and stepped aside so Y/n could stand in front of me. "Watchu nervous for? You've been performing since you were like six" she joked. I rolled my eyes, "I'm a performer Y/nn, I'm going to always be nervous" I told her as I fixed my hair. She smacked her lips, "You're fucking Beyoncé. Fuck you need to be nervous for? Go out there and show them who the actual queen bee is" she attempted to give me a pep talk but I just busted out laughing.

"What type of pep talk was that? You're so passive aggressive" I laughed out. She playfully pouted at me. "Aye don't be laughing at me. I'm tryna be a supportive baby mama? Baby daddy? Look ion know but all I know is I'm tryna be amazing and you laughing like I'm some damn goofy" she pointed at me. When my laughter died down, I cuffed my hands on her face and brushed my thumb over her cheeks. "I'm sorry Y/nn. Thank you for the pep talk and thank you for being here" I told her softly. She gave me a goofy smile, "you're welcome baby mama. Now, go out there and take the stage" she told me.

I smiled and nodded before stepping away from her and moving towards the crew who were escorting me to the stage. I carefully got onto the lift and waited for my cue.

Time to make history.

***
I was scanning the crowd of people as I sung countdown. When I got to the far right of the stage, I seen a few familiar faces like Zendaya and Storm Reid but, what caught my attention was the person who was leaning on Storm. Storm's arm was wrapped around the girl as she leaned on her and she was slightly mouthing the words to the song and smiled.

When we made eye contact, I nearly stumbled over the lyrics I was supposed to be singing but I covered it up by letting the crowd sing to give myself more time to analyze the girls face. It felt like I was looking through a mirror. Well, slightly.

Who was this girl?

I snapped out of my daze and gave the mystery girl a smile before going back to performing.

When the show was over, I got off stage with that girl's face still imprinted in my brain. My body moved on autopilot as I moved around backstage to break everything down and whatnot. I moved towards my family and held Blue in my arms after she ran full speed for me and jumped into me.
