Akira | Los Angeles, Bel Air
It's been a little over two months since the whole Shawn-Kanye-Matthew fiasco and finding out Beyoncé was my mother. Honestly, everything has been running pretty smoothly with me settling in and getting comfortable with my rightful family.
I loved actually having parents who genuinely love me. Scratch that, I actually loved having a family in general who genuinely loved me. Blue is my little shadow, Julez is like an annoying older brother, Destiny, my older cousin, is like an amazing big sister, all of my aunts are amazing to have and grandma and grandpa are like the best grandparents ever.
While yes things have been amazing for me, there was always this nagging feeling of where Kanye, Kim, and the rest of the Kardashian/Jenner clan disappeared to. I wasn't really worried about Shawn and Matthew as I just didn't care for them. I didn't like the idea that the ones who had me were out running freely. Even though they were aunt Kylie's family, I at least wanted some justice brought to them.
Today was the day I got to audition for my role as Ashely Banks for Bel-Air. I was shitting myself as I got ready. Mama told me that I didn't need to dress so formal if that also made me nervous so I threw on a random outfit as my anxiety was too high to think about my physical appearance that much. My hair was straight so I let that flow over my shoulders before putting on some light makeup.
When I was finished, I grabbed my phone and made my way downstairs where I could hear voices. Grandma had suggested that we all could go out and celebrate my audition after dad and I came back from it. I told her it wasn't necessary since I wasn't guaranteed to get the role. There were plenty of other people who were auditioning to be the iconic Ashely Banks character. I didn't put too much thought into getting the role but it wouldn't hurt to try.
"Aw look at my baby getting all ready for her audition" Mama gushed as she came over and engulfed me in her arms. I chuckled but allowed her to love on me as I never wanted to pass up on the opportunity to have my mother's affection. "Mama stopppp I'm already nervous as is" I pouted. I was then passed over to dad who threw her arm over my shoulder, "nervous for what? You've been practicing with Storm and your coach. All that damn money we paid her she better have gotten you this audition" she said then grunted when Mama hit her.
