Abhay stood in front of Saanchi's house. He waited an entire month to meet her last time because he thought she was safe but now, he can't let her be alone after knowing how she is.
Determined to find a way to check on her well-being, he started looking for ways to get in. The front door was an absolute no go because he could see people present in the living room.
" Maybe, a back door? ", Abhay thought to himself before sneaking towards the backyard. He noticed that there were no back doors to enter the house, but there were pipes scattered all around the back walls.
Abhay carefully scanned the surroundings and when he was sure that no one was coming, he stepped on the pipes. Climbing the pipes one by one, he reached the second floor.
Struggling to catch his breath, he somehow peered through a window and discovered Saanchi on her bed.
Her sight helped him stable his breathing.
Abhay was scared he would mess but he didn't want to let this chance slip away, so he pushed open the window and entered. It creaked a little but Saanchi didn't react.
" Saanchi? Wake up, it's me. "
Abhay called for her but she didn't move. Saanchi layed there motionless and his heart sank. He ran to her side and tried to wake her up but she laid still. Though her chest rose and fell occasionally, she was completely out.
He understood that she was drugged.
Right then, he heard faint footsteps approaching the room. Panic set in and Abhay quickly slipped under Saanchi's bed, praying no one would see him in her room.
The door creaked open and Abhay strained to listen as everything was muffled, but it was obviously Saanchi's brother and sister in law, Anurag and Shalini.
" Did you inject the medicine again today? Didn't I tell you that the drug goes in her every 3 days. You can not over do it! She can over dose and die from it. ", Anurag said and Shalini scoffed.
" Ugh, I've had enough of her. I want her gone. Dead, if necessary. ", Abhay heard Shalini respond.
The coldness in her voice sent shivers down Abhay's spine. He never had the blessing of being with a family yet he couldn't imagine how someone could be so horrible to their own family.
He strained to control his emotions, silently seething with anger.
" I think killing her would be too bad, you know. After all, she is my sister. But the money... ", Anurag laughed as Abhay felt him sit next on the bed.
" When she turns 21, she inherits everything and I can't let that happen. Let's make her insane and throw her in some mental asylum. After that, you won't have to deal with her. "Abhay's eyes widened in disbelief.
" Whatever. As long as I don't have to tolerate her in this house. ", Shalini yelled before storming off. Anurag followed after her and the footsteps slowly faded away.
Abhay crawled out from under the bed and sat next to her. He gently picked up her left arm, that had turned purple because of repeated needle insertion.
Abhay's eyes welled up with tears as he looked at Saanchi's pale face.
" You were my new dream, Saanchi. You were my inspiration to fight and live a happy life but-", he whispered.
" Seeing you like this breaks my heart! "Abhay pressed her cold hand against his forehead and suddenly heard a faint groan. It was barely audible but enough to snap him back to the present.
He looked at Saanchi. Her eyelashes were fluttering, as she tried to wake up, but her body didn't let her.
Abhay leaned in.
" Saanchi, can you hear me? "
Saanchi's groans intensified and she moved her head around but at last, she gave up and stopped moving.
He looked around and saw recently disposed medicine viles in the trash. Abhay picked them up.
NeuroCalm-X
" These must be the medicine they use to drug her. ", he muttered to himself before pulling out his phone and searching up the name on Google.
NeuroCalm-X is specifically formulated to provide relief to patients suffering from extreme neurotic disorders. It's primary function is to calm hyperactive brain nerves, bringing about a sense of mental balance.
NeuroCalm-X should only be given to patients after being diagnosed. It's usage by those without such conditions can lead to a gradual loss of memory, physical inabilities and a decline in overall brain function.
Warning: This medicine should only be sold with a prescription. Unauthorized sale to individuals without one is strictly prohibited.
The results made everything clear. Abhay quickly took the rest of the medicine viles and emptied them in the basin, and refilled them with water. In case, they used it on her again.
When he walked back into the room, he noticed Saanchi moving again. Her hands were moving, as if she was trying to look for something.
Abhay stepped closer.
" Saanchi! ", he called out.
She stopped moving her hand and a faint smile appeared on her face.
" Ab-Abhay...? ", she managed to say.
" I... wanted to... see you... "
