~Six Months Later~

The last few months seemed to go by in a blur for Simon; at work, he seemed more popular than ever before. Everyone in the office wanted to know about the younger male's mystery man, as well as if he was going ever to come back. Half of Simon wanted to answer no; it had been six months, and the younger male would chalk it up to another lie Drake told him and try his best to move on. The other half of Simon was still hoping; the younger male was still waiting for Drake to come and sweep him off his feet, and he'd finally have his Hallmark Christmas movie ending as Rebecca had. At home, Simon hasn't been able to seem to lose weight no matter what he tried. The younger male tried all the weight-loss diets and pills, but nothing ever worked. It wasn't like he didn't like the extra weight; he loved the feeling of being full; he loved the feeling that his clothes were too tight. But it wasn't the same without Drake. Simon turned his attention toward his computer when his phone next to him buzzed. Scooping up the device, the younger male stared at the phone for a moment before shaking his head and then tossing it into his backpack, ignoring the buzzing.

Rebecca appeared behind him, leaning against the small divider wall. "Aren't you going to see who it is?" She quizzed, sipping her coffee.

Simon inhaled and exhaled softly. "It's probably just my parents telling me to call them." He replied. The tall woman made a noise in the back of her throat, nursing her drink silently. After a few minutes, Simon closed his eyes, spinning his chair to face the woman. "If you're going to hover, at least tell me why instead of being annoying about it." The younger male added.

"What if it's your boy toy?" She asked.

"It's been six months, Reb; he's not coming for me." Simon trailed off.

After taking a quick look around and placing her coffee cup on the other person's desk, the older woman moved closer to Simon and sat down in the vacant cubicle next to him. "You don't know that you don't know why he's so late," Rebecca noted.

Rolling his eyes, the fatter male shook his head. "Isn't it obvious? He lied to me." Simon whispered.

With a groan, Rebecca glanced at Simon's backpack before turning back to face him. Chewing on the inside of her cheek, she then lunged forward to search through the man's bag and retrieve his phone. "It's against the rules to go through other people's stuff." Simon grabbed his phone and remarked.

The taller woman held the device above her head. "If you have a problem with it, tell HR. But I'm not going to let you let this opportunity slip by." She said.

Simon huffed, leaning back in his chair. "What if I am tired of getting disappointed?" He asked.

They stared at each other for a long moment, then turned their attention down to Simon's phone, which buzzed in the woman's hand once again. "Even so, I wouldn't give up if I had a chance at true love." She said, holding the phone out for Simon.

"You're a jerk; I hope you know that." The younger male stated that he was snatching his phone from her hand.

The woman smiled. "That's why I'm your best friend; I push you when nobody else will." Rebecca trailed off.

Simon stared at his phone for a long moment before inhaling and exhaling loudly. Turning on the screen, everything around him seemed to freeze as he read the notification a few times. Six missed texts from Drake. When Simon looked up again, Rebecca was already back at her desk, typing away. After wetting his lips for a few minutes, the younger male opened his phone and pressed the notification.

Hey, I finally got everything settled. Do you still want to meet? -12:30

Are you okay? -12:32

Did I wait too long? -12:33

Listen If you still want to meet up, I'm at the hotel near your work. If you still haven't given up on me, meet me in the bar for dinner. If not, I understand, and you can lose this number. -12:45

Simon looked at his watch and saw that it was a little after four. Simon shook his head and nervously bounced his leg, realizing he still had two hours of work to go. He shut off his computer, grabbed his jacket and rucksack, and hurried out the door, oblivious to the cries coming from behind him. After throwing everything onto the passenger seat, Simon got into his car and drove home. The man stormed toward the shower after tearing off his work clothes when he got home. The younger man hurriedly undressed after cleaning him, and Butch casually strolled into the bedroom, leisurely swinging his tail. The cat looked up at Simon and meowed after licking his paw for a little while. The fatter male shot a glare down at the cat, rolling his eyes as he quickly tied his tie. "Rebecca is right... I can't sit by and wait  anymore."He muttered, slipping on his jacket. The feline rubbed his paw on its head before meowing in response.

After checking himself in the floor-length mirror, Simon inhaled and exhaled slowly. Spinning on his heels, he swiftly walked down the stairs, scooping up his keys and wallet from the kitchen counter. Taking a few deep breaths before leaving his house, he rushed toward his car, put the address of the hotel into his GPS, and started driving. It didn't take Simon long to find the hotel; once the younger male found somewhere to park, he quickly pocketed his wallet and walked inside the hotel. The large lobby seemed to loom over Simon as he scanned the area, noting the bar was to the right of him while the check-in desk was to the left of him. Swallowing thickly, Simon spun on his heels and walked toward the check-in counter. Once the male paid for a room and grabbed his key, he swiftly walked into the large bar.

Slowly walking up to the long counter, slipping onto a stool, while the bartender appeared shortly afterward. "What can I get you, sir?" They asked.

"Nothing yet; have you seen another male around here?" Simon asked.

"I meet lots of people, sir; you'll have to be more specific." The other sighed.

The bartender groaned and nudged the man's head toward the back of the bar after explaining Drake to him. I gave Simon a small glass of soda as she slid across the counter and then vanished back out of sight. The younger man took the drink gently and had a few sips before he slid off the stool. Approaching the rear of the bar with caution, I saw Drake engrossed in a book and distractedly stirring his drink while gazing at the vacant seat in front of him. Simon crept forward, mouth agape, and put his cup down on a nearby table. After putting down his stirrer and turning to face Simon, Drake hurriedly shoved himself out of the booth, removed the younger man from the ground, and spun around.

"Did I wait too long?" Drake asked, setting his forehead on Simon's.

"No... You're just in time." Simon replied, wrapping his arms around each other and pulling him into a kiss.
