"Welcome to Killa City." Henry said,
as he looked out over the city in daylight from a room that looked like it used to be a conference room,

"No FEDRA?." Joel asked,
as he slowly crossed his arms

"Not as of ten days ago, no."

"Always heard KC FEDRA was-"

"Monsters? Savages? Yeah.. you heard right"
Henry nodded,
cutting Joel off

"R/ped and Tortured and murdered people for twenty years..and you know what happens when you do that to people? The moment they get a chance..they do it right back at you."

"But you're not FEDRA."

Henry froze..Before slowly turning to Joel
"No... worse. I'm a collaborator."
He confessed

"I don't work with rats!"
Joel shook his head,
and began to step away from Henry

"Yeah, you fucking do..today you do, cause I live here and you don't, that's how I followed you here. I know this city and that's how I'm going to help you get out."

"Why help us" Joel asked, feeling skeptical towards Henry's 'kindness'

"I saw what you did..the way you killed those men..now I know where to go. But I don't know how to make it through alive, not if it's just me,
Sam and (Y/N)."

"You seem capable enough. Your armed" Joel pointed out

"You're wrong, and wrong..never killed anyone. And pointing an unloaded gun at you is the closest I've ever come to being violent. So that's the deal. I show the way..you clear the way."
Henry proposed

The sound of laughter diverted their attention towards the end of a long table where You, Ellie and Sam were giggling as you flicked through Ellie's joke book.

"Haven't heard that in a long time" Henry smiled,
seeing you and Sam having fun
With Ellie

"So how are we getting out?" Joel asked in a gruff voice, bringing the conversation back to the previous subject,
a serious look playing on his face.

(Y/N) POV:

Henry found a piece of paper lying on a table in the conference room, and began drawing four intersecting lines that formed a rectangle,

He then wrote the different highways that Kansas City had at each corner, Joel and Ellie watched beside me and he finished drawing out the 'map'.
And Sam sat drawing on his magic slate at the other end of the table,

"Highways..downtown"
Henry circled the center with his fingers "us" he pointed to our location "This whole area belongs to Kathleen"

"She's in charge?"
Ellie asked

"Leader of the resistance"
I confirmed, making eye contact with Ellie, before quickly looking away as I felt my face begin to heat up

What was that..

I was brought out of my thoughts by Henry "You can see the way we're bounded by highways. They got people posted all around the inside perimeter. If we get close, we get caught, no question. So how do we get across?" He gently banged the table to get Sam's attention

'How do we get across'
Henry signed,
involving Sam in the conversation

Sam cleared his magic slate and Began to scribble something down before presenting it to the rest of us

Tunnels.

"Boom"
Henry snapped his fingers

"Kansas City has a subway?" Joel asked

"No, but they do have maintenance tunnels. There's a bunch of buildings all put up by the same developers, and they share these tunnels, including a bank building here."

I watched as Henry marked the top right of the 'map' "So we enter the tunnel here..and pop up here" he drew a dotted line outside of the city perimeter

"West side North Residential There's an embankment on the other side of the houses. We head down, pedestrian bridge over the river..."
I watched as he drew in a river and a bridge and clapped his hands. "Free as a bird."
He smiled

"You're right. It's a great plan so what do you need me for?" Joel asked

"You noticed anything strange about this city? I mean, other than the strange shit you've already seen" Henry questioned Joel and Ellie

"No infected?"
Ellie suggested

"Oh there's infected..just not on the surface" I explained

"FEDRA drove them underground fifteen years ago, and never let them come back up it's the only good thing those fascist motherfuckers ever did." Henry added

"So, you want us goin' into a tunnel?"
Joel pointed to Ellie then himself,
clearly still skeptical about what me and Henry we're saying

"Everyone thinks that it's full of Infected, including Kathleen, which means that we're not gonna be running into any of her people, But you see, what I know is.. it's empty" Henry explained,
trying his best to convince them it was safe

"You've been down there?" Joel asked

"No, but the FEDRA guy that I worked with told me that it's clean. Completely clean. They cleared it out. All of it."
Joel shook his head at Henry's response

"When?" Ellie asked

"Like three years ago?.."
I replied, looking to Henry for confirmation

Joel scoffed.

"Okay..maybe one or two, but you handle it" Henry said, stammering slightly

"What if there's more?"

"Or one of those blind ones that sees like a bat?"
Ellie added

"Wait- you... you ran into a Clicker?"
I asked, in awe

"Two of 'em."

"And you're still alive!"
I marvelled, leaning on the table towards Ellie,
'So cool' I thought as I stared into her warm brown eyes..

"You see? You're the right people. If it gets bad down there, we turn around, and run back out the same way we came." Henry proposed,

causing me to realise how long I had been staring at Ellie, I quickly looked away clearing my throat as I felt my face begin to heat up again in.. embarrassment?

"Oh, that's your great plan?" Joel scoffed

"No, that's my dicey-as-fuck plan, but as far as I can tell... it's our only shot."

Sam banged his fist on the table gaining our attention and signed
'What are they saying?'

"They're saying they're going to help us escape."
Henry said as he signed, so Joel and Ellie could understand

Sam nodded with a smile and went back to his drawing

"Right?" Henry turned back towards Ellie and Joel expectantly.
