Ellies POV:
My head pounded with intense pain as I slowly opened my eyes blinking away the blurriness,
Ugh, where am I...
I weakly pushed myself up onto my forearms, feeling them shake under my weight
"I started worrying you wouldn't wake up."
a voice from behind me said
I hesitantly turned to face the owner of the voice.
Fuck. Not him again
It took my probably concussed brain a few seconds to register my current situation
I was in some sort of barred cage, Y/N was in here with me...
Laying on the cold tiled floor, blood dripping down the side of her face,
Not moving.
I crawled over to her, my body aching,
"(Y/N)...fuck." I whispered, feeling around for a pulse
'She's alive' I sighed in relief, but quickly was dragged back to reality
Snapping back around to David...
"Let us out."
I asked weakly,
moving in front of (Y/N's) unconscious body protectively
"Well, that's certainly the goal."
David sat down on a chair by the cell.
"Hungry?"
"Why are we in a cage?"
I slurred, looking around for a way out
My vision blurring again
"Because I'm afraid of you. You're dangerous people. You've certainly proven that. The others, they want me to kill you both for all that's happened."
I tried to pull myself up failing miserably, my knees buckling underneath my body straight away, sinking back down to the floor in defeat
"Did you hear me say the others wanna kill you?"
David asked, his irritating voice making my headache worse
"Yeah." I groaned
"But I stopped them."
"Fuck you."
I snapped, glaring at him
"Why don't we just start with your name?"
he asked softly
"Eat shit."
"Hey, listen to me!"
he shouted,
I scooted back in fear pulling
(Y/N) with me as far away from him As I could hitting the back of the cage, my hands shaking as I held (Y/N) close
"You two can't survive on your own. No one can. But I can help you. Let me protect you."
"We're not on our own."
"Right. Your friend, And how is he?"
My eyes drifted down to the ground remembering the state we had left Joel in..what if they find him..what if they..
I began spiralling when David decided to opened his fucking mouth again
"I can see how much you care about him, so I know it hurts. But even so... you gotta face reality."
He moved around the cage to where I had moved to, I quickly crawled away bringing (Y/N) with me, again putting distance between us and the crazy man
"That part of your life. It's ending. And what I'm offering you is a beginning."
I pulled my knees to my chest, breathing heavily, my eyes filling with tears,
"But if you can't find a way to trust me...Then, yes, you are alone."
