"Mom, please." Angie begged my mom for any clue regarding her real dad.
"I'll tell you. Let the three of us go to the pool." Mom walked to the pool and I went to give my sister a hug.
"You're my sister and you'll always be. You're not anything half to me, okay?" I assured her. She nodded and hugged me tighter. I'm sure she's scared of what Mom is going to disclose.
"Sisters hug without me?" Addy said walking to the fridge.
"Mom is going to tell us about Angie's real Dad." I told her letting go of Angie.
"Holy fuck! She's willing to talk?" Addy was surprised.
"Yup."
"I'm coming along." She closed the fridge and we all walked to the pool where Mom was sitting with Dad.
Addy and I sat on either sides of Angie to support her because she's the one who's going to get most affected by whatever Mom is going to say.
"Angie,I love you so much. I didn't just give you your name but you're my angel. You saved me when I was going through the most painful journey of my life. Whatever I'm going to say it's going to hurt but we will always be your family." Mom said.
"Am I not your biological daughter?" Angie asked in a weak voice.
"I gave birth to you." Mom assured her. I could feel her calming down a bit.
"I'm your father no matter what. The first time I set my eyes on you,I fell in love with you. Twenty four years later you're still my angel and my first born." Dad said.
"I met your biological father when I was nineteen. We were in love and at twenty we got married. At twenty one I had you but he refused to be a part of your life. We divorced and I got in a situationship with someone else. He was your dad at that time until he raised his hand on me. I met your Dad by then. He held my hand through thick and thin and he loved you. For the first time in my life,I was loved." Mom wiped her tears.
"Your biological dad started wanting to be involved in your life. You were one year old and I refused." Mom continued.
"Why? Don't you think I deserved knowing my real father?" Angie questioned. She was still crying and I wiped her tears. Addy was just the spectator who listened.
"You did but he wanted to be a part of you just for the publicity. He painted me in the wrong while he was. He insulted and humiliated me. I didn't want him to be a part of your life and do you know what he did?" Mom asked Angie who shook her head.
"Along with his sister they kidnapped you. I went crazy looking for you everywhere. I even had a miscarriage…" Mom couldn't contain her tears and Dad hugged her.
Mom did mention losing a baby boy but I didn't know how. This is so heartbreaking. I stood up and went to give her a hug. Even Angie and Addy joined in on the group hug.
"I'm sorry Mom. I didn't mean to open old wounds." Angie apologized. I understand where she comes from. She deserves to know the truth though.
"The motherfucker had the nerve to point his gun at you,his own daughter. He didn't deserve you." Dad said.
"So you shot him?" Angie raised her head and stared at Dad with teary eyes.
"I did and then I buried him in a shallow grave. Believe me I don't regret anything. No one threatens a child of mine and live to tell the tale." My dad is a gangster in a suit. I'm proud to be his daughter.
