Mom was helping me to get ready. Her stylist was styling my hair and doing my makeup. One thing my mom taught us was to embrace our natural hair. We aren't fans of artificial hair. My hair is long enough to be styled anyhow.
"It's like when you were graduating." My mom was happy that day. I was the top achiever in my class. I was a nerd so it was not a suprise.
"Your daughters are beautiful." The stylist commented.
After I was done with everything,I walked downstairs where Chrisy was waiting for me with Dad.
Dad just decided to whistle making me feel embarassed.
"Dad…"
"What? How can you be this gorgeous Asante? Are you sure you're my daughter?" My dad loves messing around.
"Dad I look like you." I reminded him. Everyone says I look like my dad.
"But you're prettier than me that's for sure."
"Thank you daddy." I gave him a hug.
"Sis…I think I've found my matric dance date." Chrisy commented. He was looking handsome. His hair was braided and he had on a black suit jacket with a matching short and a white t-shirt. Instead of a tie or bowtie he was wearing a gold chain and Jordan sneakers. He looked amazing.
"You're handsome Chrisy." I kissed his cheek.
"I know. Are you ready to go?" He hooked our arms.
"Yes sir." I teased him. Dad was driving us. Since the accident, I've only travelled when I was coming home from the hospital. Cars still scares me and it's going to take a long time before I sit infront of a steering wheel.

Soon dad parked in front of the mansion where the gala was held at.
"You guys have fun and come back with your siblings. They hired the limousine. Your Mom and I are going out on a date."
"Aww Dad. Have fun as well." He got out and opened the car's door for me while Chrisy followed.
"Bye Dad." We waved at him as we walked to the gate where they asked for our invitation card. They scanned it and scanned us for any illegal possessions. When the security was done, they let us in.
We practically had to walk on a red carpet to get in. I'm used to this things. When Mom releases a new collection, the same thing happen.
We were taken few pictures at the entrance and then we walked in. The house was full of people and according to the Greek statues outside, Nkosinathi is a Greek mythology lover.
The servers offered us some drinks and we both took non-alcoholic champagne. I have to lead by example. I can't expect Chrisy not to drink while I'm drinking.
I spotted Una talking to Addy and when she saw me she waved. I waved back which made Addy turn and she was surprised to see us. That's the reaction I was looking for hence I didn't tell them about being invited.
"Sis,I just saw someone I know. Will you be alright if I leave you?"
"Chrisy I'm not a baby. Besides there's Addy."
"Okay. Be safe." He kissed my cheek and walked away. He loves socialising and he knows some rich kids since he schools with them and he meets some at such events.
"Asa, what are you doing here?" Addy asked.
"I invited her." Una said."How are you?"
"I'm okay Una and thank you for the get well soon card."
