I wake up in a chair next to Dalilah. She is sleeping, her hair flowing down around her beautiful face. I smile to myself as a nurse comes in. "The two of you are able to leave today. You both just need to fill out these papers.", she whispered to me. I nod and she leaves. I get up and fill out my papers and most of Dalilah's. Then I hear a noise and turn around. Dalilah has a worried look on her sleeping face. She is having a nightmare. I shake her shoulder until she wakes up. She starts crying and I wrap my arms around her."Sh...Sh... it was only a dream." I say to her. "We can go home now. I filled out the papers and the nurses are bringing up a wheel chair." She smiles and I help her to the bathroom. She changes into her clothes and then a nurse helps her into a wheelchair. She helps me fill out the rest of her papers. Then they say that an ambulance will take us home. We get out of the car at her house to find all her siblings and her dad outside the house holding a big banner saying Welcome home, Dalilah!
She laughs and they all hug her. Audrey takes Dalilah into the house for lunch, while their dad pulls me to the side. He wraps his arm around my shoulder and says, "I am proud of you. You took care of my oldest girl. You didn't panic and you stood strong in a bad time. That is the kind of boy I want my Dalilah to love. I am happy to let you stay here for as long as you want. You are a part of the family." He pats my back and walks into the house while I stand there like an idiot. I can't believe he said those things. That was the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me. I wish he was my dad. I smile and go inside. I go upstairs to find everyone squished inside Dalilah's room. She is laying on her bed with her foot propped up. As soon as she sees me her smile gets bigger and she motions for me to come sit next to her. I do so and then Dalilah tells all her siblings to leave so she can rest. They all leave, slowly but surely, and then she holds my hand. I bring her hand to my lips and kiss it. She blushes and I peck her on the lips. "Get some sleep. I will see you later." Then I leave her room and go back to mine to finish unpacking.
