(Saturday)

Dalilah and I went to the Meyers funeral. Basically, we were the only ones who attended. Dalilah told me she saw the Meyers standing over their graves before laying down in their coffins to finally be at peace. Dalilah cried because no one else came, nobody remembered them. There were a lot of people gossiping about it because everyone thought they left. I am still surprised the cops never even tried to go into the house. They only went when Dalilah and I proved it was mostly safe.

School starts back next week. Dalilah and I will both be seniors. David told us this morning, when he gets off of work he is going to take all of us school shopping. This summer was crazy, and it flipped my life around, for the better. My step dads trial will be soon, and I know he will be put away.

Dalilah and Audrey come downstairs with Sam trailing behind them. He jumps on me and Dalilah says, “Come on, James.” They lead me outside and walk into the woods. After a while we get to the Meyers house. I guess Dalilah want to keep the path secret. “Show them.”, Dalilah says to Audrey.

Audrey closes her eyes and takes deep breaths. Then she opens her eyes and holds up her hands like Dalilah does when she is about to shoot sparks. She aims at me and before I can move a huge gust of wind is thrown at me and I am across the clearing a moment later. Dalilah’s jaw drops, and she hugs our sister.

Dalilah has been trying to help Audrey figure out what her powers are and now we know one. Dalilah has four powers. She can produce sparks, move things with her mind, see and talk to ghosts, and look into the past, or go into someone from the past to show her what happened. So far Audrey can produce wind and move things with her mind. Audrey is so excited it is hard for her to keep it a secret, but it has made her and Dalilah closer.

Sam and I are getting to be closer friends as well and life couldn’t be more perfect. The other day I walked in on Sam and Dalilah kissing, which was weird, and made things awkward between us for a few days. I spent the rest of my summer getting ready for school and fishing with my little brothers. Dalilah and Sam spent theirs teaching Audrey to control her powers, so she wouldn’t hurt kids at school, on purpose or on accident.
