I sit in the waiting room of the hospital waiting for news about my mom. I start thinking about this morning. I woke up to find my mom and I still in the floor. She was still unconscious. I called an ambulance and they took the two of us to the hospital. I had some bruises and scrapes and they said I was fine. My mom, however, is in a coma. My dad is at work, probably not caring, if we are both dead or not. He is a business man and was teaching me and Jacob, my older brother, about his work, till Jacob died, and dad became a drunken mess. All of the sudden an alarm goes off in my mom's room and a swarm of doctots, plus me, burst into the room to see what is wrong. A doctor pushes me out of the room and shuts the door. Everything after that is a blur. I watch as they put this thing on her face and shock her with weird metal circles. When that doesn't help, they all stop, look at their watches and put their things away. They pull her blanket up over her head and they all walk out, looking at the floor. One woman sees me and kneels down next to me. She says, "Is that your mother?" I nod. She gives me a quick hug and then says, " I am sorry to say this, but your mother is...gone." I burst into tears and run down the hall. I run down the hall to the nurses station and ask for the phone. Without question, they hand it to me.
